The celebration started off with
a parade where each section show-
off their own headdresses. Dr. Es-
coto of the PNU clinic held a Nutri
-Forum for the whole ITL to par-
ticipate in. She spoke about the
healthy diet everyone should prac-
tice. Students from Grades 4 to 10
also organized a food bazaar host-
ed and led by the Youth Entrepre-
neurs Cooperative School (YECS)
where every grade level prepared
nutritious and delicious snacks and
meals for everyone to enjoy. It also
serves as a practice for the students
aspiring to be an entrepreneur or a
chef.
All throughout the celebration
there were a lot of contests admin-
istered that every student joined in.

tradisyon na kung saan pinaparanga-
lan ang mga estudyanteng guro
upang makapagsanay sa pagtuturo.

Every day we experience different situations,
As we wander in time with the course of our actions
But have we ever wondered how life really goes?
Are we inside a figment that clandestinely flows?
We usually interact with things we dont completely
understand.
And normally execute things as it was planned
But could we ever comprehend how life really goes?
Are we inside an imagination that no one knows?
Until the day of demise, we cant reason with the fath-
omlessness of life
Even if we question the reality, it just forms strife
But how would we ever discern how life really goes?
Are we inside a fictitious realm that grows?
What really are the secrets of the universe within?
Because the line between existence and dream is thin.
Is it possible theres only one reality that subsists?
Or are there other dimensionalities on the list?

A Queen was known for her peaceful ways
No one knows what her real name was
For she had ruled for the century that passed
But all of them knew her worth
So Mother Earth was the title given to her
The kingdom was going fine
Until one such terrible time
Creatures came from the unknown
Violence was the only thing they've shown
The Queen tried to talk to them
But it just worsen this problem
The kingdom that was once green
Was burnt black by these killing machines
Not even the Queen's most powerful quake
Would make those beast know their mistakes
And as far as everyone knows

magandang karanasan sa bawat
mag-aaral upang mas lalong ma-
paunlad ang kanilang kaalaman sa
bagay-bagay. Malaya ang lahat na
makapili ng hanggang tatlong sa-
mahan o organisasyon.
Mahahati sa dalawang sektor ang
mga organisasyon; akademiko o
academic clubs at interest clubs.

ang bawat samahan ay isang opor-
tunidad para sa mga mag-aaral da-
hil ito ay nagsisilbing tulay para sa
pagkakaroon ng mga bagong ka-
kilala, kaalaman, at karanasan.
Matapos mailunsad ang kauna-
unahang club fair, ipinagdiriwang
naman ang Hulyo, ang buwan ng
nutrisyon. Sa buwang ito ginanap
ang nutri-jingle, isang patimpalak
puno ng kantahat sayawan. Itoy

aaral simula nang ito ay inansunsyo
ng pangulo ng Student Govern-

cians, and even the international com-
munity has expressed their thoughts
and concerns in relation to this war.
Some praised the president for doing
a smart move, and some con-
demned it for violating human rights.
In the middle of numerous controver-
sial, events like the killing of alleged
drug users without prior evidence,
including the killing of Kian Delos
Santos, a Grade 11 student whose
death just added gasoline to the fire.
The Philippines as a nation is now
politically divided more than ever.
Outrage and protest were seen in dif-
ferent parts of the country. Social me-
dia sites became a battlefield and pro-
tests are going against each other.
One would say that this is the correct
thing to do, but is it really the solution
that the country needs?
Drugs has always been a problem
and there is no denying that, but the
way that the president is handling
this situation is quite troublesome.
The way that he gave the police
somewhat an absolute power to kill
anyone that they think is a user or
pusher can only lead to more prob-
lems. That move alone would in-
crease the power of corrupt police
men to abuse anyone that crosses
their paths. This is not to say that all
of them are corrupt but the fact is
that some of them are. This is like
saying that you can kill people as
long as you prove that theyre a
pusher or user. But the problem
with that is in some cases they dont
present valid evidence or due pro-
cess in their killings. A simple card

enough. Further proof would at
least give some sort of closure to
the victims relatives and love
ones.
Some would argue that its better
to just kill them off because they
are practically useless to the socie-
ty. But isnt that what rehabilita-
tion centres are for, to help you get
over your addictions from certain
substances? Another problem here
is that people who used or are ad-
dicted to drugs are usually given
up on, automatically. Instead of
killing them just send them off to
rehab and if the rehabilitation was
proved to be ineffective after dis-
charge, the rehab centre should
have a part in the blame. Thats
simply just an indication that they
are not doing their job properly.
To avoid this maybe we should try
to improve the rehabilitation pro-
cess in order to make it more ef-
fective. It is proven that most of
the caught drug users are part of
the poverty demographic. It also
seems like the government has
given up on helping them, consid-
ering the fact that the Philippines
has the biggest unemployment rate
it whole Asia. This two facts could
conclude that as a way of income,
some are forced to buy and sell

drugs just to make money. Some
might not want to do it in the first
place but are forced to due to the
circumstances that they are in.
Maybe the government should think
of something else to do with the
drug users, such as offering more
job opportunities or some vocation-
al lessons. Yes, the government al-
ready has these projects but they
need to make it more accessible to
the poor. The Philippines has a
huge population and theres no
denying it. It would be wasteful if
we wouldnt be able to incorporate
that big of a work force into our
system, as it could be a of a huge
help in our country.
This is not to insult the current
admiration, but a simple criticism
so that they could do a better job.
Nowadays, its all about picking
sides, its either you agree with the
president or not. But what most
people cant see is that there are
some who are just in the middle,
some who agrees and disagrees on
certain aspects of the current ad-
ministration. Let us not forget that
we are still one country. We should
not be tearing each other apart but
rather help each other for the great-
er good. This current situation goes
beyond the anti and the pro govern-
ment, our future and the future of the
new generation depends on it. We
need to be united now more than ever
for the greater good. How can we
possibly face other nations when we
ourselves are divided? Its good to
see that everyone is at least interested
to help make our country better than
it is. At the end of the day, we are all
Filipinos interested in one common
thing, making the Philippines great
for a better tomorrow.

pected to behave in society based
on their sex. In the past, it is tradi-
tion that men are supposed to act
as the provider. Men are ex-
pected to work for the familys

members of the family. They are
to stay at home, clean, cook,
look after children, and not work
to support the family financially

This uniform tradition is most-

girls. How often in a household

is the happiest part of school life?
Indeed, it is the happiest part of
our high school life.
Children ages 11 to 13 in Grade
7 or commonly called freshmen,
encounter many changes in their
life, the first stage of high school
life. Some had fun experiences
while others had bad experiences.
Social media counts a lot in this
stage of life of the children. They
meet many friends on this social
media which sometimes lead them
to better opportunities in life. Due

about assignments, projects and

I remember being amazed as I
took in the view of our Inang

years ago, back in seventh grade.
Students gathered around, with
those who are in grades higher
than us greeting each other with
hugs. For a split second, I pan-

grade anymore. I am now in

lenges are in our way to the next
grade. Investigations and research-

still have the trait of being playful
and naughty but our minds are ma-
tured. Guidance from parents plays
an important part to us. Parents
should check our activities and
know who our constant compan-
ions are.
As we, freshmen, grow up, our
minds mature. We make our own
decisions and try to do things on
our own. We tried to discover
things we dont still encounter and
the very best is we try now to han-
dle situations or harder challenges
we encounter thus to prepare our-
selves to the next stage of our high
school life.
