Gobindgarh Public School was established in 1977 by Gobindgarh Educational and Social Welfare Trust

which was registered on September 29, 1978 under Societies Registration Act 1860. The Trust purchased
nearly 13000 square yards of land in 1979 and built the Primary Block of the school on it in 1981 and
classes were shifted in its own building in 1982. Now it is spread over an area of nearly 35000 square
yards. The campus has extensive lush green lawns, flower beds and lots of greenery.
It is affiliated to C.B.S.E., New Delhi for Secondary and Senior Secondary classes wide affiliation No.
1630063. It provides quality education to the students from Mandi Gobindgarh and surrounding towns of
Khanna, Amloh, Sirhind, Fatehgarh Sahib, Bassi Pathana and nearby villages.
The school lives up to its motto 'LUX MUNDI' meaning 'Light of the World' and aims to provide a well
balanced education whereby each child is provided an opportunity to develop his/her talent and excel in
life, using his/her strengths. We believe that education is an enjoyable interactive on-going process. Our
objective is to inculcate a positive attitude, to imbibe social and moral values and to encourage
originality. Our goal is to bring up children who raise questions from independent hypothesis and
develop an inquisitive mind.
It has faculty of 145 teachers and administrative & sporting staff of 175 & students strength 3078 in
regular CBSE classes and 169 in CBSE-i classes.
From 2013 it has started CBSE-i, International version of CBSE catering to global curriculum. GPS is
one among first 50 schools in the country which is the pilot project for CBSE.

You must do research before the interview and come up with two or three reasons you want to work for the
company. It would also be beneficial to think of at least two reasons this job is a good match for
your skills, strengths, experience and background. What can you bring to the company? Write down your

1. Why do you want to work here?


Good Answer: I wanted to move to an institution like this that prioritises good teaching practice and dedicated pastoral care of
students. I believe I can offer this because of [x and y examples of experience from your previous career].
2. What makes you different from the other candidates?

Good answer: Although I am an all-rounder and could contribute to departmental life in many ways, I know that I have the international
research profile that you are looking for. [Go on to give details of books and articles written, prizes won etc.]
I also think I am unique in that I have direct experience of running online courses and would be happy to take a lead on introducing that
here if colleagues were interested.

Question: Why do you want to become a teacher?


Applicant: I wanted to become a teacher to be able to make a positive difference on the future of children.
For me, it is great/fulfilling challenge: stimulating the next generation to become lifelong learners. I have
always been grateful to the educational system for implanting values in me and at this juncture, I feel I should
contribute what I have learnt and experienced over the years. This way I will be paying back and at the same
time can fulfill my desire of enhancing the education system.
Clearly, the applicant seems to be concerned about the present educational system and by mentioning the word
contribute he/she states his/her strong sense of motivation and thus, distinguishes his/her candidature from the
rest.
Further, the applicant can state and validate his/her basic interest in the job profile. By doing so, he/she will
catch the interviewers attention and the interviewer will understand that the applicant is aware and
interested in the nature of the job profile.
Applicant: I cant think of any job as important to society as teaching. I have always loved to give young
people the best start in life. Interacting with kids is great. Be it on educational grounds or recreational activities,
it is a lot more fun interacting and learning with kids. As a hobby, I have been giving tutorials to kids at the
neighborhood community center.
The applicant has been able to put forward his/her reason for interest in the job profile. I love to interact and I
have been giving tutorials highlight the fact that the candidate is aware of the intricacies of the job and has
some sound experience in the same.
The applicant can further state his/her skill sets that are the prerequisites for the job in question.
Applicant: I want to be a teacher for developing a new generation of thinking individuals. Being a goal
oriented person with tons of patience, I am sure I will be able to gel with kids and train them in the required
subjects with utmost care and concern for achieving the educational goals.
Since being focused on achieving educational goals and being patient are key abilities that a good teacher must
possess, by mentioning these skills, the interviewee finally wins the heart of the interviewer. Keep in mind all of
these points, and be honest and assertive while answering the question.
What Do You Like About This Company?
Well, the JP Morgan reputation is certainly a factor. I would be proud to work for a company with such a
long history of leadership in the industry.
Also, a good friend of the family has been working in corporate finance at JP Morgan for the last two years and
he told me that the culture supports learning and development on the job and really rewards hard work.
Sample Answer: Why Are You Interested in This Job?
I feel that my proven track record leading multi-functional teams makes me an excellent match for the job
requirements. Also, the role excites me because I love the idea of helping to develop cutting-edge software
products and I know I could start delivering results from Day 1.
Why We Like It: This answer manages to sell the candidate while addressing what she likes about the job. She
leads with the fact that her experience makes her a great fit for the job requirements. She continues by stating
that the role excites her. This is good. Dont be coy about whether you want the job or not. Show some
enthusiasm. And finally, our candidate wraps by promising that she can deliver results immediately.
Well, I have great respect for your companys software products and I would welcome the opportunity to work
with the best in the business. At the same time, I have friends in the industry who have told me about your
companys respect for employees and how you create a great environment for rewarding innovation. I think my
proactive style would fit in really well here especially in this particular role.

Question 5 - Why do you want to work for our school district?


Answer - Your preparation and research is imperative to successfully answer this question. Provide a few reasons why
you're interested in the school or district, and what in particular sparked your interest. What is your personal experience
with the school or district? What do you know about its student body, faculty members, industry reputation, community
involvement, educational goals and objectives, upcoming initiatives, demographics, or extracurricular activities? This
information will help you to accurately respond to the above question. The word accurate is important -- don't answer
the questions by using old information

The interviewer is looking for evidence that you really know why you want to work there or did you just send out
applications and hope for the best. This research will also help immensely when answering other questions throughout
the interview, so plan to dedicate some time and energy doing this homework. Effective research will help to tailor your
answers, without being deceiving, to the question above. It is wrong to tailor your answer with incorrect information -
preparation and honesty is the key to a successful interview.

Question 7 - How would you describe a successful principal?

1. I saw a story a few months ago on the news about the outreach your company does
with the community. Giving back is a big part of my personal philosophy and I was
excited to see that there was a company that felt the same way. You can imagine how
excited I was when I found out there was a job opening in my skill set here. I would
really hope to be able to come to work every day to a place where I knew not only are
my technical skills valuable, but my personal philosophies are as well.
2. . I really believe in the value of teamwork and so when I saw a position with your
company to join your engineering department I had to make sure my application was
put in. I believe strongly in working with other people towards a common goal and I
know the skills I bring not only as an engineer, but as a team member will not only
bring me work satisfaction, but will make me a valuable teammate as well.
