Raphaeles Dream for mandolin and tape.

Duration: 535
In dreams our subconscious takes language and the world around us and twists them into ungodly
shapes. Logic becomes twisted, our inner fears and joys are made material and words become
nothing but sand in our mouth. This is when we dream with our own sense of the world and the
word but what if you are Raphaele Calace, Historically known as the worlds best mandolinist. He
speaks the language of music and lives in the world of the mandolin far more than our own.
Raphaeles dream is a dreamscape that uses the implicit logic of Calaces world and twists it as our
subconscious does to our corporeal world.
All the sounds in the electronic part come from a mandolin. At first the mandolinist is lost in the
dream but slowly they begin to catch onto the dream logic. They begin to interact with the dream
but, as in real dreams, just as they become confident in this twisted landscape they wake up.
