ABSTRACT

This report is centred on the future of ready to eat food in India.

The purpose of this project is to project a future for the ready to eat food industry in India

along with all the factors that may be responsible for the same.

While conducting my research, the survey methodology was employed to understand the

future and the consumer buying behaviour towards ready to eat food items and how, different

aspects of these products can affect the purchase decision.

In today's world, time is of the essence. Food, on the other hand, is a human necessity. Here,

enters the spectrum of ready to eat food products which, in a diverse market like India, is a

booming and a vital industry.

Due to the population boom and the increase in the hectic methods of life, it becomes very

difficult for a common working class man to prepare a complete meal at home/office to

satisfy his hunger. In such cases, ready to eat products with their nutrition and availability,

satisfy that demand within the given time crunch. Quality, availability and price are amongst

the top characteristic factors when it comes to ready to eat products and the effect on the

purchase decision by consumer.
