Notes: 1. Valves are per Piping Classification Standards.

2. The valve well shall be 6 non-corroding material.

3. Dimensions for cast iron valve boxes may vary according to local manufacturers.

4. Valve boxes shall be supplied with drop covers. The covers shall be marked as follows:
WATER (for mill water services)
FIRE (for fire services).
5. Extension rods with valve wrench shall be supplied on all valves buried 4-0 or deeper.

6. Dimensions on this standard refer to a valve box raised to finished grade. If the temporary grade is
lower, adjust dimensions as required, but ensure that surface loads are not transferred on to valve.

7. Provide 3x3x4 thick concrete slab around valve box where valve box is not within pavement.
