Following show the frequency ranges used in the RF frequency bands (6 to 42 GHz).
Refer to NOTE 1 and NOTE 2 for the corresponding frequency band of the system.

ODU Appearance (2 of 2)
NOTE 1:
When using a 6-to-42 GHz ODU, each data transmission system must take the
following channel separation or greater.
Usually, RF channel frequency must be assigned to the level that is shifted a half
of channel separation from the Start and Stop frequency values within frequency
range of sub-band. Refer to the following example using the system with
transmission capacity of 40 MB:
Transmission Capacity: 40 MB
Modulation Scheme: 16 QAM
CH Separation: 14 MHz
TX Frequency Ft: ƒ1 + 7 MHz < Ft < ƒn –7 MHz
where, ƒ1 = Start Frequency, ƒn = Stop Frequency
NOTE 2:
When using a 6-to-11 GHz ODU, RF channel frequency is assignable depending
on the transmission capacity within frequency range of sub-band (K/L/M/N/P/R).
Refer to the Starting/Stopping frequency in the frequency table corresponding to
the channel separations.
The change of BPF varies depending on the frequency band and sub-band to be
used. Therefore, please contact NEC prior to changing the ODU sub-band, to
check whether or not the change of the BPF is necessary.
CAUTION:
ODUs that have been used outside should NOT be disassembled without
following the proper procedures. If the outer is removed, replace the silica gel
packs with new ones, and also the air leakage test should be done using the air
leakage tester that is manufactured and sold (separately) by NEC.

FD SYSTEM CHANNEL ALLOCATION 2-1
For the frequency diversity (FD) system, following frequency allocation rules are
applied:
Sub-Band of ODU
For the co-polarization, the minimum TX-RX Separation Frequency should be 56 MHz
or higher. The two frequencies should be allocated within the same sub-band as shown
below:
LOW HIGH
Assigning each frequency to the different sub-bands is NOT ALLOWED. See the
following example:
LOW HIGH
SUB-BAND A SUB-BAND B SUB-BAND C SUB-BAND A SUB-BAND B SUB-BAND C

Sub-Band of ODU
For the Alternate-Polarization, the minimum TX-RX Separation Frequency should be 28
MHz or higher. Two frequencies should be allocated within the same sub-band; should
not be assigned to the different sub-bands. See below:
