WETTED PARTS A$EEMBLYT VO+GHC (Refer fig.No.8l0-110 page)

i. Place the shaft sleeve (part no:31) on the pump shaft (part np.28) with key.

ii. Place the side caslng (part no.33)with Bush bearing (part no.32) over the pump column
pipe (par{ no.27)

ilt. Place the casing cover (part no.34) and lmpeller (part no.36)and tighten the lmpeller.nut
(part no.3n with Gaskets between sleeve/lmpeller, lmpeller I lmpeller nut. (part no,39,
40)

By the adjustment of the adjusting screws in the bearing housing, the rotor assembly
a

IV,
can be moved up and down. With this aid keep the clearance between casing cover and
lmpeller (normally 2 to 3 mm)

v. Mount the casing (part no,35) over the casing cover with a Casfet (part no.41)

Care should be tdken so that orientation of the delivery of the casing should suit the
sole plate. Then che'ok up the Free rotation of the rotor assembly. Tight the lock nut
(part no.7A) provided in Adjuster sqrew.

vi. '' lt.is imporlant to position the lmpeller correctly in relation to the casing. No rubbing can
be allowed with side walls or front walls of the casing. This can be avoided by the
adjusting the screws in bearing housing.

LAYING THE CONNECTING PIPING:

GENERAL:

The diarneters of the piping are not determined by those of_ the pump branches. On short
delivery pipe iuns the diameter should be such that the pipe resistance constitutes but a small
portion of the delivery head- for long pipe runs the most economic pipe.diameter must be
assessed in each particular cdse.

Abrupt changes in pipe cross sections and sharp bends should be avoided.

Once the flange boits have been loosened, the nanges must not yield more than the amount
cerresponding to the gasket thickness Dor,rflust they be out of the parallel nor bear against
each other under stress. See that the flange gaskets do not extend into the bore of the piping.
Clean carefully all pipe par.ts and fittings prior to assembly,

As the ,pump branohes should not absorb ipipe.forces and moments, the pump must not be
used as a locating point of the pipe work.

Caution : Afler eonnecting up the piping, the pump alignment must'be re-checked, as the set
may have been distorted. lt must be possible to turn lhe rotor easily by hand. ln case of
inadequate alignmeht, bearings, coupling, shaft seal (in case of VR design) and wear rings may
gei damaged prematurely.

FEEDLIrG: (FoR VR DESIGN ONLY)

The isolating valves in the feed line must remain fully open during operation and must NEVER
be used for regulating.

ASSEMBLY PROCEDURE (Vo+SPS+T TPS) I

'
1. Place the shaft sleeve (53.S1 on the pump shaft with key.
2. Place the bush housing (17.3) with bush bearing (55.553) over the column pipe
with proper gasket.

3. Mount the lmpeller with shaft by providing a gasket between sleeve and impelter.

4. Provide a gasket between lmpeller and lmpeller nut and screw the impeller nut
with shaft.
5. Plaoe the gasket on the wear plate (14.54) face and fix the wear plate with casing
using studs.

6. Mount the casing along with wear plate providing a gasket in between.casing &
bush housing and fix the casing using studs with column pipe.

7. By the adjustment of the ariljusting screws'in the bearing hoqsing, the rotor
assembly can be moved up and down with this and keep the clearance between
wear plate and impeller (0.6 mm).

8. Care should be taken. And that the orientation of the delivery of the casingi should
suit the sole plate. Then check up the free rotation of the rotor assernbly and
tighten the lock nut provided in the adjusting screw.

L lt is important to position the impeller correctly in relation to the casing. Nq iubbing

is allowed with wear plate. Thie can be'avoided by adjusting the screws in bearing
housing.

DTEMANTLING FROCEDURE (VO+SPS+T T TPS} :

1. Remove the suction spool / strainer connection.

:

2. Remove the delivery bend (72.051) you will find a sealing gasket which i$ to be
preserved carefully

3. Remove the Volute casing ( 11.4) by loosening the stud provided. (the wear plate
(14.54) fixed with casing also come along with) if necessary wear plate to be
removed by--loosening the studs.

4. The impeller is now visible, loosen the impeller nut (93.4) and pull the impeller
(24.21 along with Teflon gasket provided in between impeller / impeller nut &
impeller / sleeve.

5. The above procedure is to be adopted in reverse fashion for assembly.

6. lf you need further. dismantling remove bush housing, now the bugh bearing can
be removed,
7. Now the bed a$sembly with bearing, column pipe and shaft with sleeve is free for
further dismantling

3. Place the wear plate (14.7) and fix the wear plate with bush housin$.

4, Screw the impeller with shafl by providirtg a O-ring between sleeve and impeller.

5 By the adjustment of the adjusting screws in the bearing housing, rotor assembly
can be moved up and down with this aid keep the clearance between wear plate
and impeller (normally 2 to 3mm).

6 Mount the casing by proving the Eas-keU0-ring between casing & bush housing
by using studs with column pipe.

7 Gare should be taken so that.orientation of the delivery of the casing shouli suit
the sole, pfate. Then check up the free rotation of the rotor assembly tight the lock
nut provided in the adjusting screw.

8. lt is important to ,position the impeller correctly in relation to the casing. No

rubbing ean be allowed with side walls or front walls sf the casing. This can be
avoided by adjusting the screws in bearing housing.

DISMANTL|NG PROCEDURE (VO+ARS) r,.i,,

1. Remove the suction spool/strainer connection.

2. ,Remove the delivery bend (72,Q55) while removirirg-the delivery bend you will find
sealing gasket which is to be preserved carefully.

3 REMOVE THE VOLUTE CASTNG (11.4) By LOOSING THE STUD PROV|DED

4. The impeller is now visible; Give a lever of sufficient diameler and length between the
, vanes of the irnpeller (inside thq suction bore of the impelier) thereby preventing the
rotation of the same.

5. Now rotate the coupling in the gpposite direction as that of normal running direction
by hand. This process will make the impeller unwind from the shaft and at the same
time coming out towards the opqrator standing before.

6. Stop it in the middle and providf hoHing and further un-;wind so that the impeller will
'come out and hang'bn the holding. I

7. The above procedure is to be adopted in reverse fashion for assembring.

B. lf you need further dismantling remove wear plate (14.71.by loosening the fixing bolts
provided with bush housing. Now the bush housing(12.e):and bush-bearing(S-s.SS3)
can be rembved.
o Now the bed assembly with bearings, column pipe, and shaft with sleeve is free for
further dismantling.

10 Preserve'all sealing o-rings and gaskets provided in between the wetted parts.

T'he sleeve bearings of the shaf t asse mbly and the slgeve bearing in the

CHECK OF DIRECTION OF ROTATION r

The dir ection , of rotation must cor. respond to the direction. arr'ow on the

for a MOMENT ONLY. It is always better to remove the motor separately '
Irom the punp and check the.direction of rotation.
STAITTING :- TJP
The regulating valve in the delivery line should be closed or, in the case of

line rnay lead to destruction of the internal pU'mp parts and must therefore
be avoicied,
For VO (wet pit installation) see that the lowest admissibleliquid level in the

operation. The reguired minimuryl ,.submergence prevents vibration and thus
