4. FIRST AID MEASURES
Eye contact In the case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with plenty of water and seek medical
advice.
Skin Contact Remove contaminated clothing and shoes. After contact with skin, wash immediately with
plenty of water.
Inhalation IF INHALED: Remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position comfortable for breathing. If
breathing is difficult, give oxygen. If not breathing, give artificial respiration, preferably mouth
to mouth. Seek medical advice.
Ingestion Rinse mouth with water. Give plenty of water to drink. Never give anything by mouth to an
unconscious person. Seek medical advice.
5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES
Suitable Extinguishing Media Carbon dioxide, dry chemicals, foam, water spray (mist).
Protective Equipment and As in any fire, wear self-contained breathing apparatus pressure-demand, MSHA/NIOSH
Precautions for Firefighters (approved or equivalent) and full protective gear.
Environmental precautions Prevent spilled substance from entering water supplies or water courses.
Methods for Clean-up Take up mechanically and collect in suitable container for disposal..
Handling Avoid dust formation. Carbon monoxide (CO) may form, especially at elevated temperatures.
For normal usage of the product it is expected that concentrations remain below the OEL-
values (Occupational Exposure Limit, which may vary from country to country). It is
recommended to handle the catalyst in well-ventilated area's. In case of insufficient
ventilation wear self contained respiratory protection. Use only in well-ventilated areas
Storage Keep container tightly closed and dry. Keep away from heat.

10. STABILITY AND REACTIVITY
Materials to avoid Reacts with : Carbon monoxide Avoid strong acids and oxidizing agents.
Acute Effects
Chronic Effects Prolonged and/or repeated inhalation may cause respiratory irritation, extrinsic asthma,
pneumonitis and possible fibrotic changes in the lung. Chronic exposure to high levels of
nickel compounds may result in severe nasal injury such as septal perforation, rhinitis,
sinusitis, asthma and nasal/lung cancer. Rats and mice exposed to 1, 3, 10, 30, or 100
mg/m 3 of Molybdenum troxide for 6.5 hours per day, 5 days per week for 13 weeks resulted
in no significant adverse effects. Prolonged/repreated skin contact can cause a loss of oils
from the skin which then becomes dry and cracked (dermatitis). Prolonged and/or repeated
contact may also lead to sensitization dermatitis. Prolonged contact with moist skin may
cause burns.
Carcinogenic effects Contains nickel compounds, which have been classified as a Group 1carcinogens
(carcinogenic to humans) by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) and
Reasonably Anticipated to be Carcinogenic in humans by the USA National Toxicology
Program.
Acute toxicity This product is a mixture. Health hazard information is based on its components.
Other data Based on literature data, may cause sensitization by skin contact.
Other adverse effects May cause long-term adverse effects in the aquatic environment
Waste Disposal Method Dispose in a safe manner in accordance with local/national regulations. Refer to
manufacturer/supplier for information on recovery/recycling.
