 Emergency stop valves


The turbine shall be equipped with two stop valves each operated by hydraulic
actuator and complete with hangers, supports and piping to turbine.

 Control valves
The turbine shall be equipped with suitable steam admission control valves.
The actuation system shall be fail-safe whereby loss of oil pressure of
hydraulically operated mechanism shall result in valve closure. The control
valves shall be designed to ensure full arced admission of steam and facilitate
efficient and uniform heating of turbine and its internal parts during start up.

 Reheat stop valves and interceptor valves

The turbine shall be provided with two reheat steam stop valves and two
interceptor valves or combined stop-cum-interceptor valves operated by
hydraulic actuators and shall be complete with hangers, supports and piping to
the turbine.

 Design features of the valves


a) The valves shall be designed to allow blowing out of steam prior to
startup.
b) The valves shall not seize under any operating condition.
c) Internal components of the valves shall be stellited to withstand high
erosion. The valves are stable and shall not vibrate at high steam
velocities.
d) Steam admission valves shall be located close to the turbine casing for
limiting turbine over-speeding to safe limits because of entrapped steam
volumes.
e) The valves shall be designed so as not to cause any objectionable noise
and vibrations of the pipes and valves.
f) The valves shall be equipped with auxiliary contacts and limit switches
for control interlocks and signalling. Additionally position transmitters
shall be provided on control valves for remote indication and control.
g) Each valve shall be provided with two additional normally open (NO)
potential free direct limit switch contacts in the valve closed position.
h) The valves shall be lagged with insulation and provided with lifting eye
bolts.
i) Temporary and permanent steam strainers shall be provided for
emergency stop and reheat stop valves. The strainers shall be arranged
to permit easy inspection and cleaning. Steam strainers integral with
main steam emergency stop and reheat stop valves shall also be
acceptable.
j) The valves shall be hydraulically operated, fail safe type and equipped
with test device to permit complete closing of one valve at a time while
the unit is carrying load.
k) The valves shall close simultaneously and automatically when the
overspeed governor trips and upon action of other protective devices.

Saat Anda memulai turbin, Anda akan berada di katup bypass di sekitar katup berhenti
utama. Dengan kata lain bypass akan terbuka dan stop valve utama akan ditutup. Katup
bypass jauh lebih kecil dari stopkontak utama sehingga Anda harus berada dalam mode
kontrol busur penuh agar cukup uap untuk memutar rotor. Busur penuh adalah ketika
katup kontrol memiliki semua bagian yang terbuka lebar dan meletakkan katup kontrol
dengan mode busur penuh sehingga membuatnya berfungsi seperti katup 100% terbuka
pada kontrol manual.

Pada beberapa titik dalam urutan awal setelah turbin telah terhubung ke grid, bypass
akan ditutup dan katup stop utama akan terbuka. Pada titik ini program kontrol start up
otomatis akan mengalihkan mode kontrol dari busur penuh ke busur parsial. Busur
parsial kemudian akan memungkinkan katup kontrol untuk throttle uap ke turbin sesuai
dengan permintaan beban.

Tidak mungkin membawa turbin naik cukup lambat melalui akselerasi yang tepat jika
Anda mencoba melakukannya dengan katup berhenti utama terbuka.
