Course: BBA 303 - Intermediate Business Statistics I – Winter 2018
Instructor’s course ID: papanikolaou19331
COURSE DESCRIPTION
Analyze business data using descriptive statistics, probability theory and statistical inference, measures
of central tendency, dispersion, associations, discrete and continuous probability.

COURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES

• Define, compute and analyze measures of central tendency, variation, data dispersion and positions.
• Illustrate concepts and relationships using tables (such as frequency, relative frequency), and charts
(including bar, line and pie charts).
• Differentiate and utilize the basic probability concepts.
• Calculate joint probabilities using multiplication and addition rules.
• Identify and provide examples of discrete and continuous probability distributions. Calculate and
interpret standard scores (Z value) and t-statistics
• Calculate and interpret standard scores (Z value) and t-statistics.
• Utilize sampling distribution and the Central Limit Theorem to make appropriate inferences about
the population.
• Find the probability of a normally distributed variable using standard normal and student t-
distribution tables.
