Composition of the Women Empowerment Cell for the Academic Year 2016-17:
1. The composition of the cell compromises one senior lady faculty member as a
coordinator from Department of Computer Science & Engineering
2. One lady faculty member and one girl student from Department of Electronics &
Communication Engineering
3. One lady faculty member and one girl student from Department of Science &
Humanities Engineering
4. One lady faculty member from Department Mechanical Engineering
5. One lady faculty member from Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering
6. One lady faculty member from Department of Civil Engineering

Functions of Women Empowerment Cell:
1. The Cell organizes meetings for women and sensitizes them on security
measures and on their conduct and behaviour, so as to avoid untoward incidents
2. To ensure that the girl students concentrate more on their studies than on other
permissive activities.
3. To counsel the girl students by giving guidelines and tips to handle any
awkward, embarrassing and sensitive situations, including ragging, teasing,
harassing, etc. intelligently and cleverly instead of becoming a victim of such
situations.
4. To organize programs in order to improve the gender equality and financial
independence of the woman students and also to implement all the programs and
activities as envisaged and communicated by the university and the Government
of India.
5. To organize any other programs or activities as deemed appropriate to empower
the girl students so as to enable them to realize their goals and aspirations in life.

Duties and Responsibilities of Women Empowerment Cell:
A) Coordinator responsibilities:
1. Student counseling services.
2. Solving various problem regarding Girl students
3. Provision of opportunities and programs for female gender to be mentally and
emotionally empowered as to promote their growth as individuals in their own
right
4. Identifying Resource person for the events to be conducted.
5. Monitoring various facilities allotted to the girl students
B) Members responsibilities:
1. Events management
2. Circulation of information
3. Budget planning
4. Conducting various competitions to encourage their artistic talents for creative
thinking
C) Student responsibilities:
1. Coordinating the student members of various branches
2. Collecting feedback from students for various events.
