INTRODUCTION
Robi’ al-Awwal is one of the most important months in Islamic history. It is mainly
because in this month the prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was born. In this
Rabi' al-Awwal of 1439 H., Mumtaza Islamic school is going to hold an occasion
mainly aimed to commemorate Milad-un-Nabi Muhammad PBUH and Mumtaza
Islamic School anniversary. The celebration of Milad (the birth) of Prophet Muhammad
PBUH, to some extent, has become the most important reminiscence for Muslims
around the world as a praiseworthy event and positive development which is valued as
the expression of Islamic revival. It does not only remind us of our Holy Prophet

Muhammad’s birthday, but also other Islamic historical events such as his hijrahfrom
Mecca to Medina or his marriageto Khadija. In addition, the deathof Prophet
Muhammad PBUH and the month when he received his first revelation from Allah
SWT become a phase for Muslims to open new page of their lives to be better.
Nowadays, by the coming of technological development era, the essence and the
existence of commemorating the history of Prophet Muhammad PBUHseems to be
forgettable. Even more, many Islamic students do not seem to care how special his story
of life is. Therefore, to remind people and to teach students about the importance of this
event, Mumtaza Islamic School creates “Mumtaza Islamic Festival 2018” event which
is aimed to commemorate Prophet Muhammad PBUH as well as Mumtaza Islamic
School anniversary by conducting some activities in terms of Islamic festivals,
performances, competitions and charity bazaar, which are well opened for all National
and International schools in Indonesia to participate. In addition, we are inviting some
embassies around Jakarta. In this regard, we believe that big gathering of people usually
create suitable environment for communication and insight exchange, especially when it
is guided by the same purpose.

The existence of this event is mainly to commemorate Prophet Muhammad’s birthday

and to promote mutual relationship between Mumtaza Islamic School and some other
National and International schools, embassies, and companies in Indonesia by inviting
them to participate in the activities conducted during the event which does not only limit
students to study, but also encourages Islamic and or educational entertainment
activities.

PURPOSES OF THE EVENT

1. To commemorate Milad un-Nabi Muhammad PBHU
2. To commemorate the Islamic historical events
3. To celebrate Mumtaza Islamic School anniversary
4. To promote Mumtaza Islamic School as one of reputable Islamic schools in
Indonesia MTAZA ISLAMIC FESTIVAL 2018
5. To provide an opportunity for Indonesian students to engage in various competitions
and many cultures including Islamic cultures
6. To promote interaction between host school students and guest school students
7. To stimulate students’ courage to show their abilities and skills by joining the festival
8. To nourish and build togetherness through sharing

1. Competitions
During the event, there are some competitions which are classified into preschool
and primary levels. Some competitions will be individual and in others, participants
will compete in teams. Here are the details of the competition:

2. Ceremony, Multicultural Expo & Charity Bazaar

The ceremony is intended to celebrate the 9 th anniversary of Mumtaza Islamic School
and to commemorate Prophet Muhammad SAW by presenting some Islamic
performances such as tahfidz and Anklung Concert and rebana and some cultural
performances such as dances from various counties. Some information booths are
also set up for the invited embassies to share traditions and cultures particularly in
term of Educational programs. In addition, there would be a charity bazaar, Islamic
opera,traditional house miniatures decoration competition and winning
announcement during the event.
