Rajesh, who has been a part of the Sonata family for 10.3 years, has
predominantly worked on Java Technologies. He has studied and picked up the
concepts of SOA in a couple of months and has delivered quality work at Veolia
Water in UK. During the implementation of the Meter Installation project, he
played several roles effectively which include:
 Architect,
 Integration ,
 Developer,
 Tester and
 Offshore co-coordinator
He was also involved in all activities of the project from project planning, PoC,
design, development, testing, installation and deployment on the production
environment. He played a huge role in making the Meter Installation (MI)
Project go LIVE in April 2010.

Key Contributions
• Played an integral role and majorly contributed towards
Design/Development of SOA Solution for the MI Project.
• Involved in creating the PoC and demo’ing the same to the business
users and program managers.
• Designed and developed several Web Services connecting to Legacy
Applications of Veolia.
• Took up installation of the Oracle SOA Suite, Enterprise Service Bus
in the Client’s UAT and Production Environment in UNIX.
UNIX
• Seamlessly moved the MI application from DEV to UAT to
PRODUCTION.
PRODUCTION
• Involved in supporting the MI application POST DEPLOYMENT IN
PRODUCTION.
• Involved in Training the client’s resource on the build and
deployment process.
• Worked with Oracle support to resolve critical issues during UAT.
• Was instrumental in creating reusable assets that can be used across
Oracle SOA projects.

2. Employee of the Month: MAY 2010: RAMKANNAPPAN. K

Ramakannappan, who has been a part of the Sonata family for 4.4 yrs, has
displayed exceptional performance in AMS (Automated Manifest System) which
is US customs outbound EDI message received by shipping terminals that specify
about holds and releases.

The customer is highly delighted with this achievement. Ram has been a
consistent and dedicated performer, from the time he has joined the project. His
ability to identify defects within a short period of QA cycle is commendable. He
has received excellent appreciation from the customer over a period of time. The
customer has quoted this success as ‘Incredible!!!’
Incredible!!!’ and also considered the Sonata
team for their next process.

Key Contributions
• In the AMS project, by taking up high risk and responsibility, Ram has
successfully carried out the task of certifying the EDI AMS module.

• With his custom developed automated tool combined with manual testing,
he has completed the task on time by working extra hours whenever
necessary.
• Ram has carried out the SQA activity so perfectly that there is no defect
leakage to the production since the release in May 2010.
• Due to Ram’s outstanding quality of development and deployment, the
AMS.Net worked at all terminals without any issues.

3. Employee of the Month: JUNE 2010: BALA KRISHNA RAGALA

Bala Krishna has been a part of the sonata family for 1.8 yrs. At Ontario
systems, Bala has been involved in serving Strategic Clients of Ontario; this
means handling difficult issues, escalations and mandatory turnaround times.

Serving demanding customer is a challenge and honor, and doing so successfully


is a real achievement. Bala has received a great amount of appreciation from
the client side. His speed, agility and versatility in providing solutions, make it
possible. He is a great asset for Ontario, a great team mate and valuable
member of the team. For Sonata, wining trust of the Client’s strategic customers
ensures business longevity and we recognize efforts that are successful towards
this.

Bala’s excellent performance has won many accolades from the customers. In
appreciation of his performance the customers have mentioned that they were
able to respond quicker to the client needs.

• The outstanding performance of Bala has enabled the team to create the

4. Employee of the Quarter: APRIL – JUNE 2010: SUCHITHA S

Suchitha, who has been a part of the Sonata family for 2 yrs, was instrumental
in on-time go live of one of the crucial components of PRISM
PRISM (crew management
system for Qatar airways) – the flagship project that Sonata is executing for
Qatar Airways.

With VRWeb going live, Sonata has successfully completed prism phase one and
has paved way for phase two.
To make the CEO presentation by QR-IT (where all our projects are show-cased) a
success was very important for sonata, as most of the future work depended on
CEO’s recognition of the work. In an account like Qatar Airways, a top
management presentation being successful is a huge milestone for Sonata. This
has gained the Customer confidence in terms of new work. (Extending the
current account).

Key Contributions
• Suchitha was responsible for quickly turn around implementing changes
for a critical CEO presentation by QR-
QR-IT.

• She showed great responsibility of a senior member (in terms of time in
this project) in helping all the new joinees in the team understand the
system, which helped reduce the turn-around time of bug-fixing and
accommodating change requests by the entire team.
• Suchita’s quality delivery on time with the required scope has greatly
impressed the management at Qatar Airways.

The Navy team was highly successful in implementation of centralized AD,


SCCM, Exchange, OCS at Indian Navy HQ at Delhi consolidating 87 domains /
work groups at Navy into one domain and supporting them for one year.

This is the first major domestic IMS project of Sonata.

This project is implemented successfully by a team of 8 professionals certified on


some of the latest Microsoft technologies like Office Communication System (OCS),
Unified Communication (UC), System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) etc

Major achievements:

• For communication across all departments, Sonata implemented OCS & UC


for Instant Messaging & presence
• Sonata provided a centralized software patches and update management
solution.
• The project involved 1000 users in 87 departments spread across 5 locations.

Despite several odds, Sonata has successfully completed the implementation of


Unified Domain within a period of 3 months to the satisfaction of Indian Navy.

This helped Navy realize the following benefits:

• Easy communication between the departments


• Centralized management of domains
• Reduced downtime of servers
• Improved efficiency of mailing solution
• Increased availability

This project has demonstrated Sonata’s capability to deliver critical solutions


based on state of the art technologies to major defense clients.

This has also helped Sonata to get another major IMS order from Indian Navy
for their Western Naval Command at Mumbai. The Indian Navy is now
considering Sonata for few more IT projects.
