These caculations are raised prior to new MEP requirements and new pipe arrangement
These calculations shoulde be readed in conjuction with SCR 0605-revision 0.
Prior to site work, the connection between steel supports and concrete wall is adopted as
welded connection to embeded steel plate.
Prior to tunnel section and elevation maximum distance between two supports is 7.557 m,
therefore adopted support distance is 7.6 m.
Steel supports will be checked thru two typical cases and are:
1) Steel supports are located in tunnel portion with horizontal tunnel base.
2) Steel supports are located in tunnel portion with sloped tunnel base of 6%.
Since the tunnel base is already casted connection between steel supports and tunnel base is
adopted as connection with base plate and HILTI anchor bolts.
Eleveation and location of CW water supply/return pipes are adopted in order to avoid any
clashes and to satisfy the erection/maintenance purpose.
Anchor supports are adopted as concrete anchor walls and are not part of these calculations.

Kindly review attached:

>Calculation using steel grade ASTM A36 for steel sections and embeded plates,
>Calculation using anchor stud and HILTI post anchor bolts,
>Copied pages from MAR-M0005 rev 1 for insulation/HDPE jacket thickness,
>Copied pages from stud anchor catalogue,
>Copied pages from AISC for fillet weld and safety factor reference,
>Printed pages for adopted section property.

Please note that site work in the utility tunnel is in progres and approve these calculations for
our future action.

In these pipe lines, pressure variation will be taken by anchor walls, therefore there is no surge.
As per code of practice, support is effected by friction forces which are 30% and 10% of total
vertical load for longitudinal and perpendicular direction respectivly. These loads are consider
as imposed (live) load cosed by fluid.

5. THE CHECK OF EMBEDDED STEEL PLATE IN CONCRETE WALL

Adopted embeded steel plates will be welded to anchor stud bolts, due to easier process of
erection. Embeded plate with welded studs will be fixed on inside face of shutering and after 28 days
casting concrete, the steel barcket will be site welded to embeded plate.

Design and check are calculated in softwear KOECO (Germany) and input / output files are
shown on follownig pages.
Design criteria for model: EUROPEAN NORM-ETAG
Steel grade fo embeded plate as per ASTM A36 (grade 40 similar), with Pymin=245N/mm2
Adopted type on anchor stud is shear connector with steel grade ASTM A 168,including welding
compatibility with carbon steel (embeded plate). Technical and mechanical properties are given in
attachment.

8.10 THE CHECK OF WELD AT SECTION 3-3

The weld stress at section 3-3 is due to horizontal shear force and vertical tension force, which
are caused by tension force in member 7 (HEA 140).
Angle β
tanβ= 100/2009= 0.4977601 , β=26.4622
Ft1=Ft*cosβ=………………………………………………………………….. 245 kN-shear force
Ft2=Ft*sinβ=…………………………………………………………………… 122 kN-tension force
Adopted size of the weld, tw=…………………... 6 mm, from both side of gusset plate.
Design size of the weld, aw=0.7*tw=……………. 4.2 mm
The height of the weld H=………………………… 280 mm
Area of the weld: 2*H*aw…………………………. 2352 mm2
Shear capacity of the weld:
Pswcap=Aw*Pyw=.. 345744 N, which is… 345.744 kN>Ft1= 245 kN…………..safe
Tension capacity of the weld:
Ptwcap=k*Pswcap……….for θ= 45 degrees, K=…. 1.25
Ptwcap=…………………………………………..... 432.18 kN>Ft2= 122 kN…………..safe
Total stress ratio:
R=((Ft1/Pswcap)^2+(Ft2/Ptwcap)^2)^0.5=……… 0.76230254 <1……………………………….safe

Notes:
Adopted fillet weld 8 mm all around from both side of gusset plate.
Adopted continuity stiffener plate 8 mm thk, from other side of web HEA 320, with connection
fillet weld of 4 mm.
