WHEN YOU PRAY say … — KINGSMEN LG GUIDE —

“One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished, one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach
us to pray, just as John taught his disciples." 2 He said to them, "When you pray, say: "'Father, hallowed be
your name, your kingdom come. 3 Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive
everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. '"

One author said that only prayer can untie the hand of God, and to think about it, I believed that if I can paraphrase it, prayer is the only thing
that can move the hand of God. Prayer is our way of communicating to God, it is more than asking our petition or needs but tapping to the
heart of God, coming before the Throne of Heaven and talking to our creator and heavenly Father. This is probably what the disciples of the
Lord saw in Him that prompted to come to Him and asked Him to team them how to pray.
How to say our prayer

· l Get personal with God. (Our Father)

Ask yourself if you have a personal relationship with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. As Christian we pray to a very personal God and our
Lord Jesus bridged the gap between God and us and made it possible to pray.

· l Get to KNOW God. (Hallowed be your name, your kingdom come.)

To hallow is "to make or set apart as holy. To respect or honor greatly; revere." In the Lord's Prayer, the phrase, "Hallowed be Your name" is
appropriate, because not only is God holy, but His name is holy too. We should give the same respect and honor to God's name that we give
to God because He and His name are one in the same.

· l Honestly express yourself to God. (Give us each day our daily bread.)

Often times we only come to God when we are in need, though we are encouraged to do so, but do you believed that you can come to God in
all occasion – when we are thankful, happy, angry, sad or hurting, revealing our heart before the King who cares for us.

· l Come to God with a CLEAN heart. (4 Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us)

Although prayer is so simple that even a young child can pray easily and effectively, the Book of Psalm 66: 18 taught us the “If we have not
confessed the sin in our heart, our Lord would not have listened.” Jesus makes us able to come before our Holy Father even though we aren’t
perfect or worthy of what we are asking God to do for us.

· l Depend on God for protection. (And lead us not into temptation.)

One of the ways that God shows His love for us are his many promises to keep us from harm, from loneliness, from evil, from our enemies.
Many of the prayers and psalms in the Bible remember God’s promises of protection and safety.
Please Note: Although every prayer isn’t immediately answered by a positive change of events, or come as expected, God always responds. God
responds to our prayers by being there for us, sending others to help us and guiding us in our times of need. That’s why I believe that God can
