3. Consideration of user type: taking into account varying family structures living in
contemporary urban houses and thus providing for the changing trends through a housing
scheme that incorporates their “type”.

4. Participatory planning: the aspirations of the existing users, potential users and agencies
that implement the project, should have complimenting ideologies in order to make the
execution and corresponding workability of the project more impactful.

5. Imagibility: design elements to allow customization of it by the user so as to lend each of

them a unique identity that will subsequently inculcate a sense of belonging.

Affordable housing projects need to necessarily be executed on government owned land so that the
primary hurdle on achieving affordability soaring land prices- can be overcome and due attention can be
concentrated on creating quality living in the housing.
How do we propose to achieve AFFORDABILITY?

Development strategy
1. Identification of land parcels manifesting inadequate housing conditions, the acquisition of
which is considered under the need for affordable housing as a city infrastructure, rendering its
land cost as negligible.
2. Devising a self sustainable government-to-user interactive model that will insure no exploitation
of the capital involved in the project, and correct utilization of funds.

1. Site-responsive translation of users’ aspirations in the quality of living space increases its
efficient utilization.
2. Scope of quality personalization spatially creates a dependency on spaces, ensuring
maintenance.
