Making Ragnarok Online MYSG a better place for everyone (psst… Let’s us exclude those
botters and RMT sellers here.)

Before we go on, we like to shed some light on our background. We’re a group of Ragnarok
Online players who come back to the server to play to relive our childhood memories. And in our
heart of hearts, we still believe this server is not beyond salvage and it is our duty to help the
server and trying to contribute to making this server a pleasant gaming experience and a better
place for everyone.

We’d like to share our gaming experience, problems faced and some humble suggestion on how
to overcome them here. Appreciate if you could spend some time reading this letter and passing
it on. Hopefully this letter would get the attention of the management team (Pointing at you here,
RO Extreme) eventually (fingers crossed).

1. Mass Botting issues in this server

Let’s talk about the elephant in the room first, shall we?

For those of us who attended the Homecoming event in Publika last November, we remembered
vividly Kennyboy Piromward, our beloved Managing Director said this confidently (drumrolls
please): “We have a very complex anti-cheat tool that is so robust, it has a 99.99% success rate.
Hopefully the statement remains true when we get to play the game.”

Unfortunately, they have not live up to this promise, at least not for now. We have seen how this
is gonna lead to if it remains uncontrolled. (Looking at you with sympathy, ROPH, rest in peace,
our beloved brother, you’ll be missed. *Sobs*)

Ever since the days of OBT (Open Beta Test), bots have been flooding most of the low level
training grounds. Don’t believe us? Feel free to take a tour around maps having monster like
hydras, thara frogs, creamy, matyr, zerom, mystcase and ya daa ya daa.

If you are hunting in these grounds, chances are you’ll be having a hard time levelling or get any
items. Why? These bots ruined it for you. And what make it all worse? These bots with no or
minimal human inputs gotten all these valuable loots with their masters idling. Whilst you?
Crying a unproductive day spent. Kindly remind us again, are we playing Ragnarok Online or
Ragnarok Botline?
If this problem remains unresolved, there will come a day when all legit players choose to leave
the server leaving it to be played by bots with bots (*giggles*).
Something needs to be done, IMMEDIATELY and URGENTLY!

Allow us for having to quote a\ line from Hunger Game. “Remember who the real enemy is!”
Like Katniss, we have remind us of this over and over again.

Our enemy is not RO Extreme, Admins or GM. No! Our real enemy is those bot suppliers,
botters and RMT sellers.

Let all of us come close to resolve this problem together:

Firstly, let’s improve on our existing suspicious character reports. It’s been taking ages
for us to see a suspected botter to get ban after being reported. With current pace, it’s no surprise
those botters have outpaced GM by miles!

For starter, GM can impose a time limit on bot investigation as part of the company policy. We
would highly recommend a five-day window for which GM should complete their investigation
on those suspected bots and eventually get it down to three or two days.

Second, for a long term measure, GM can consider installing a more robust anti cheat software,
i.e Gepard Shield. Gepard Shield Protection is able to guard against most openkore software
and its defence is definitely harder to crack compared to OVH or other third party anti-cheat
mechanics.

One should note that the downfall of Gameflier (previous official MY server management) was
due to a weak anti-cheat mechanics in place and lackadaisical attitude towards anti-bots. At its
peak of having a population more than 2,000 players, it was estimated more than 80% of them
were bots actually. Many players were frustrated and have given up on the server. It had
eventually falling to a population of having less than 800 players, became an unsustainable
business enterprise and eventually forced to close their enterprise.

Ponder this carefully, is it what we want for this ROSMYSG server? Players and management
like.

If this couldn’t be done due to the restriction in the licensing agreement with Gravity. RO
Extreme should talk to us about this instead of just keeping mum over it. Let’s us the players
work with you in coming to an amicable solution for all.

2. Slow Response from Customer Service Personnel


Many of us have the experience of reaching out to customer service personnel to make a
complaint only to see the problem persists.

It’s very frustrating, isn’t it?

For instance, one of our writers had the experience of making a complaint on the Aldebaran
Wurzburg Castle Flag bug on last Tuesday. It isn’t showing the the flag of the castle holding
guild. This problem remains unresolved up to the date of writing.

Here comes the solutions.

Firstly, the management should better train their customer service personnel. Have them
familiarised with in game mechanics. Delegate them more authority letting them resolve some
issues that can be solved immediately. For issues that require clearance from higher up, keep the
players updated regularly on the latest status.

Second, a closer integration between customer service personnel and GM team. Perhaps pair a
personnel with customer service personnel working together. They should reduce the lag time
between customer service department and GM team.

3. Party sharing experience mechanics

We have noted that the party sharing experience mechanics still follow the pre-renewal setting.
This hinders teamwork and making party hunting unattractive.

Kindly update it to the latest mechanics. This will create an appropriate setting for teamworks
and party hunting.

“Experience is split between party members. For example, if a Wizard is sharing with a Priest
and Monk, the experience gained by the monsters killed by all three will be equally distributed
between the three of them. In a party, there is a 20% EXP bonus per character starting from 2.
All players in a party must fall in a range not exceeding 15 Base Levels in order to share. For
example: A group of level 90, 105, 98, 100 and 102 players may all share as they are within 15
Base Levels of each other. Were a level 89 character to join the party, party share would be
broken.”

4. Others
Here are our other suggestions listed in no particular order.

a. Community Representative Managers

Elect a community representative managers from Malaysia and Singapore respectively. This will
close up the cultural gap between the local players and the management team.

b. In Game Events

Have more in game events where GM roams the streets and have players involved in the events.
Perhaps they can gain inspiration from the player hunting games organised previously by Fatality
guild.

Have more experience bonus during peak hours (7-10pm daily). This will encourage players to
buy and use more field manuals. So it’s a win-win for both players and RO Extreme. However,
this should only implemented once bots are eliminated to near zero %.

c. Update Cash Items Regularly

We are constantly looking forward to inclusion of new cash items after server maintenance
update patch every week. Most of the items we wanted are in fact area already available in both
ROPH and ROTH.

So there is no harm in having them in our servers, isn’t it?

d. Stats Reset Stone Event.

Make this service once per 3 or 6 months and sell this stone same as Neutralizer Box (3500
ROK) and only can reset TWICE, second reset use DOUBLE stone amount. Make it 1 week
event and the next reset are only available in the next 3 or 6 months.
