Customizing the template is quick and easy.


If you are experienced with After Effects 7.0, simply drag and drop your footage to
the placeholders.
If you are a beginner, these instructions explain customizing process step by step .
Another interesting feature of the template is the “reverse-engeener” tutorial use.
Open the little arrow on the left of layers to find the settings of effects and transfor-
mations to change the values of key frames.

INTERESTING TIP!
In Flying Pictures template you can use all the
compositions nested in “FlyingPictures_HD 24fps”
timeline or a single one of “Scheme” compositions.
CUSTOMIZE THE TEMPLATE:

Movie_HD/SD are the placeholders you

CUSTOMIZE THE TEMPLATE:
Change the placeholders with your footage:

Method 1

Import your movies: choose File > Import > File... in your menu bar
or in Project window: Right-click > Import > File...

In Timeline select the layers you want to change

Drag & drop the new item with key “Option ⌥” (Mac) / “Alt” (Win) pressed


Repeat the operation for all footage in timeline

ATTENTION! If the timeline appears empty, go to page 8 to solve the problem.


CUSTOMIZE THE TEMPLATE:
Change the placeholders with your footage:

Method 2

Prepare your footage with your preferred editing software.


To make the right cuts in the movie, refer to “Marker_list.txt”.

In the example: from 00:00:00:00 to 00:00:02:00 place the first shot


from 00:00:02:00 to 00:00:03:12 place the second shot
from 00:00:03:12 to 00:00:06:12 place the fourth shot
from 00:00:06:12 to 00:00:10:00 place the fifth shot
Export the movie.

Change the placeholder :

1 - in project windows choose the placeholder “Movie_HD” (in this case:”Placeholder HD”)

2 - Ctrl-click (Mac) / Alt-click (Win) or right-click then choose: Replace footage

3 - choose the new movie to replace the Placeholder

4- adjust the scale and the position as you like


CUSTOMIZE THE TEMPLATE:

Change texts and characters

Open “Your text here” composition.

Select the Text tool from the tool bar

Positioning the Time Indicator on the middle of the


first text layer

Select the old text

Replace with new text


To change all layer characters at once:

Select all text layers in the timeline

Change the font and all other parameters

Now the text composition is ready.


CUSTOMIZE THE TEMPLATE:

Troubleshooting

In some cases after the footage has been imported in timeline nothing appears
This error is generated by the difference between the footage timecode and the timeline
timecode. Follow the above instructions to solve the problem.

After having changed the placeholder click on the Stretch Panel icon.

Then click on the “Layer In” column and type 0 (zero) on the “Layer In Time”, then press OK

Now the In time is correct.

ATTENTION!
If the footage is not in the right position,
then double-click on the layer icon and adjust time in the Layer window.
