Informed by assessment and evaluation conducted in the Fall of 2017, Learning
Assistance Programs is seeking a graduate student intern to develop a Learning Assistance platform via Canvas to increase the accessibility of our programs to students of the campus community. Within this, we are seeking a student who will take the lead on implementing a webinar component to our Learning Strategy Workshop series. This person will work directly with facilitators to convert their in-person workshops to the on- line platform that is best suited for this program. Additionally, this person will be responsible for developing a maintenance guide for LAP staff to continue to maintain Canvas function and the user experience.
Potential responsibilities will include:
• Developing and maintaining a Learning Assistance Canvas Platform (informed by practices in the field; see LMU) to be accessible by all students who utilize LAP and are registered in TutorTrac o Primary module focus: learning strategies workshops o Supplemental modules: schedules, learning resources and handouts • Determining best tools and course of action for converting in-person workshop to on-line webinar format and developing a process to do so o Potential to record each workshop as a voice over presentation via Zoom • Collaborate with workshop facilitators to convert in-person workshops to the on-line platform • Uploading all webinar recordings and workshop support documents to on- line platform and converting to click through resource format • Supporting students in accessing the on-line interface by granting access and answering questions • Developing and documenting a process for continued maintenance and success of the on-line platform within LAP • Training LAP staff on how to continuously utilize, develop, and maintain the platform
