The department of Geode c Engineering produced 11 out of 11 new engineers in the October 2015 Geode c Engineering Licensure Examina on.
Four of them top the examina on.

I n the academic year 2015-2016,

the College of Engineering got a
total of 1,311 student enrollees
for the Second Semester. The student
popula on decreased compared to
the First Semester.
The Bachelor of Science in Civil
Engineering s ll had the most student
enrollees with 478 and followed by
Bachelor of Science in Computer
Science with 310 enrollees. The
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical
of Science in Geode c Engineering
have 234, 178, and 111 student
enrollees, respec vely.
With the trainings and
experiences of the students, the
Engineering, Bachelor of Science in College aims to produce quality
Agricultural Engineering and Bachelor and highly competent graduates.

COE assist SMAW and EIM NC II trainees

T
he VSU - Technical Voca onal
and Educa on Training Program
Coordina ng (TVET) office was
established on January 2012 under the
direct supervision of the office of the
Director for Extension and
implemented by the College of
Engineering. Its main func on is to
implement and coordinate the different
technical voca onal training programs
of the university.
At present, there are two (2) regular
training programs offered under the
College of Engineering: Shielded Metal
Arc Welding (SMAW) NC II and
Electrical Installa on and Maintenance
(EIM) NC II.
The SMAW NC II training started on
January 19, 2015 un l February 27,
2015 with 20 trainees. This was
followed by a SMAW NC II training from
June 2015 un l October 2015 with 22
trainees. An EIM NC II training was also
conducted from June 2015 to October
2015 with 7 trainees. The NC II trainees
were assisted for their competency
assessment.
There are also two ladderized
programs supervised which is Food and
Beverage Services (FBS) NC II and the
Food Processing NC II offered by
the Department of Consumer and
Hospitality Management and the
Department of Food Science and
Technology, respec vely.

Passport Exam held at the ICT
Building, Visayas State University last
October 25, 2015.
