WORKING (Allowable) LOAD CAPACITY Table 1

REFERENCE: NEMA FG-1 (current issue)

The working (allowable) load capacity represents the ability of a fiberglass cable tray to support the static weight of cables.
It is equivalent to the destruction load capacity, as determined by testing in accordance with paragraph 4.1, with a minimum safety
factor of 1.5.

CORROSION RESISTANCE OF RESIN SYSTEMS Table 6

Two standard composite resin systems are available. For most applications, isophthalic polyester fire-retardant (FR–P) is the more
widely used. A vinyl ester composite fire-retardant resin system (FR–VE) is recommended where strong acids (such as hydrochloric
acid), strong alkalies (such as caustic soda), organic solvents and halogenated organic conditions exist. An abbreviated Guide is
provided below to assist in the selection of the proper resin system for individual application.
All composite material has an ultra-violet light inhibiting chemical additive and has a maximum flame spread of 25 or less, per
ASTM E-84 (Class 1 flame spread). All pultruded products have complete Nexus Veil Coverage (outer surfacing fabric) to provide
maximum chemical and UV protection.

requirements for non-
metallic cable tray, Enduro
has developed a conductive,
fiberglass material. The conductive cable tray includes constituents that
prevent electrostatic discharges, which may pose potential safety concerns.
In addition to conductivity, the material offers corrosion protection,
lightweight, and strength – desirable benefits for floating vessels and
off-shore platforms.
Electrical Properties
ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES
Non-metallic cable tray for vessels applying for ABS approval after January 1, 2007, must meet this standard as listed in ABS Rules
for Building and Classing Steel Vessels, 4-8-4A1/9.1:

9.1 Resistivity Test

Cable Trays and protective casing passing through a hazardous area are to be electrically conductive.
The volume resistivity of the cable tray and protective casings and fittings are to be below 100 k! and the surface resistivity
is to be below 1M!. The cable tray and protective casing are to be tested in accordance with IEC60093.

ENDURO APPROVAL & TESTING

Enduro’s RT-Tray has been third party tested in accordance with IEC60093 and received ABS approval as a conductive tray.

MITERED FITTINGS
Pre-assembled “mitered” fittings are available for all tray types. Fittings are assembled using 316 SS fasteners (unless specified
otherwise). When connecting to molded fittings or straight sections, expansion connector plates are recommended. For conductive
and low smoke/non-toxic cable tray, splice plates must be stainless steel. Rung connections are made with a mechanical and/or
chemical lock (see specification, pg. 12, item 5.2.4 for details). For assistance with other sizes and widths including 10" mitered
fittings, please contact factory. M

STRAIGHT SECTION COVERS
Cable tray covers are recommended for those areas where the cable needs protection from falling objects, adverse weather
conditions, etc. Available in polyester and vinyl ester resin types in 10 Ft. (3m) sections in both flat and peaked design.
When ordering flat cover for fittings, refer to pages 18, 22 and 25. If vinyl ester is requested, substitute “V” for “P” as in the following
example: EVC-06 x10'. If Low Smoke / Non-Toxic Resin is requested, substitute “Y” for “P” in the following example: EYC-06-04.
In addition to cover, solid bottom also available. See page 30 for cover accessories. S

For Hanging System Installation

Typical Hanging Support System
The optimum method of installation for a hanger system is to fin-
ger tighten the assembly and then only tighten the nuts one-half
turn to secure any jam nut assemblies. Follow the permanent Double Beam Clamp
installation procedure whenever possible. This results in mini-
mum torque and allows maximum thread shear. Threaded Rod
To insure maximum resistance to chemical attack once the assem-

be coated with EnduroSeal™ (Part No. ES-Q or ES-G; see pg. 31). Rod Coupler
