Discipline Problems, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Web.

Nov 2005.

_Relations.aspx

In this article, the Boynton’s state that people want to feel respected, loved and cared for by the

people around us. This also implies to teachers and students. The authors used evidence that

shows that students appreciate recognition and work more productively. This shows that students

work more productively when given respect and recognition from their teachers. Also, they tend

to be on task and try harder to achieve their academic goals. In order for students to have a good

relationship with teachers they have to respect one another at a professional level. Teachers can

accomplish this by giving appreciation to the students work and the student will do in return for

the teacher's help. This article is valuable to my research of teacher appreciation because it

explains way teachers can improve student-teacher relationships. Lastly, it gives ways how to

change things up in the classroom for a more efficient way to monitor things.

Research - ACER. Web. 20 Apr. 2017.

https://www.teachermagazine.com.au/articles/teacher-wellbeing-making-staff-feel-valued

In this article, Earp explains that teachers can’t teach the positive practice and wellbeing, because

they aren’t on that path to bettering themselves in this situation. Jo then states that some schools

are holding teacher’s brunch to get to know and value eachothers presence. The brunches

consists of support, from mental health, personal and professional issues in one's life. The article

summarizes how teachers need to improve their wellbeing individually and together as peers.

Also, being aware of a healthy, positive teacher can improve relationships with peers and

students. The article of teacher wellbeing plays an important role in my research because I want

to uprise the awareness of teacher appreciation. I also, want to see how peers and students can

value one another. Lastly, I want to bring theses new ideas to the administration to bring teachers

together and then teachers can bring awareness of peer and student wellbeing.

In this article, it states that people, but in this article mainly teachers who feel beaten down are
unlikely to perform at their best. A way that some administrators help teachers feel valued in
their profession is by going into a lecture and see how they are doing and give them good
feedback at the end of the class. Also, many students at schools tend to meet one on one with
teacher to tell them how good they are doing at teaching the class and how they appreciate the
work the teacher is doing. The article is saying that when teachers are feeling down because of
criticism they tend not to do their best. In saying that the article suggested that administrators

teachers classrooms, observe a lecture and give them feedback and many teachers like hearing
feedback especially when it's good feedback. This article can very much help me more with my
research because it shows me ways Dr. Roe or anyone peers can help a teacher improve their
lecture or if they are doing great to keep thriving.

Meador, Derrick. “Why Respecting Students Is Essential for Teacher Effectiveness.” ThoughtCo.

In this article, it explains why respecting a student is very effective in the workplace. An type of
disrespect towards an students is unacceptable especially in the classroom and students need
to understand to give the same respect in return. In this article is says that if you google or
youtube “teacher abuse” the amount of videos and articles is unbelieveable and should not be
acceptable. Sometimes teachers tend to forget that kids are still growing and learning and they
need to have patience to respect and get respected. The article summarized explains respect
students and students will respect you is very effective in the classroom and out. Also, it gives a
brief summary on how you can improve a good, respective, trusting relationship with a student's.
Then its gives two lists one on how many teachers lose respect from students and the other list
on how to gain a student's respect. This article will be very effective with my research because I
can guide teachers how to gain a students respect and how they lose it from the view of a
student like me.

Zakrzewski, Vicki. “Do We Care for Our Teachers?” Greater Good. Web. 23 Oct 2012.

https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/do_we_care_for_our_teachers

In this article, it states that by caring doesn’t define teaching a student to prepare for something
to achieve a goal in life, but more of us as humans and our humanity. In the research the author
made it says that schools that are high in caring is not only strong in academic success, but also
in social life. Also, she uses another research that if peers are kind to each other more and
more people will be engaged in their work and will be very productive. In the article summarized
says that we need to show more empathy towards each other: student to student, teacher to
student, teacher to teacher, and teacher to administrator, etc. It also, explains how showing that
caring can make a huge impact in the workplace and you will be more satisfied and productive.
Then at towards its gives examples how teachers and administrators can help students and
teachers and vice versa. The article can help me with the values of each person and how
engaging, caring, and showing empathy can help you and a peer to have a better day and be
more productive. With this article I can suggest teachers that are having problems with their
peers or students to fix the problem.
