As an IT manager inside your company, you are required to setup several types of services as per client’s
requirement. In order to complete the task given:

 Create a domain for company

 ServerA consists of DNS, WINS and DHCP services. Meanwhile, ServerB provides FTP, Telnet and
Network Monitoring System (NMS).
 Company divides into 4 departments. Each department must be created using difference scopes
but they must be grouped under a superscope. Definition of scope must be done by using batch
files.
 For maintain the data consistency and fault tolerance, the second DNS must be setup.
 Company needs Web server and Email server.
 All clients will get IP address automatically and it must be authorized by the Domain Controller.
 Use private IP addresses.

Services Expectation
DNS Both Servers registered under a domain
Prepare alternative references incase the DNS service cannot be performed.
DHCP Define a static IP and allocate dynamic IP addresses for clients.
Each scopes define either ServerA or ServerB as a default gateway.
WINS Backup and restore the WINS database. Create a new location for backup and
make sure all files in default location being deleted before restored.
FTP Perform service in both GUI and command line.
Define new port number.
Each department has their own FTP location. Two of them have full access
permission and Anonymous is not allowed.
Telnet Use telnet for creating DHCP scopes remotely.
NMS Setup a network monitoring tool.
It might be use Wireshark, MRTG and others.

Your task covers:

1. Make a group of 3 members

2. Setup all the services involved.
3. Make a complete technical report discusses on network design, configuration, printscreen, testing,
finding and network monitoring output.

With a group of 4 members, you are required to setup a server with:

1. Windows Server 2008

2. Services include:

a. IIS

b. FTP

c. DHCP Server

d. Telnet

e. Remote Desktop

f. SMTP

3. Use VM Ware for this project.

Equipment:

2 unit of PC Servers

2 unit of PC Clients

1 unit switch

Provide detail report that includes:

- Introduction on each services

- Design a network topology and it’s justification

- Steps how you setup and configure the server.

- Prove the connectivity

- Show results for each services.

Bonus 5 marks is given if you put an effort on making a comprehensive video (duration : 5-10
minutes).

As an IT manager inside your organization, you are required to implement one
domain integrated with active directory to suit your organization need. For maintain the
data consistency and fault tolerance you are require to implement secondary DNS to fulfill
this requirement. For accessing the Internet, your DNS will forward all the connection to
the internet DNS server (192.168.1.1). Inside your organization, you have an email server
and www server to support your organization. The entire clients inside your organization
are using Window2000, Win98 and Win95. All of these clients will get the IP address
automatically and it must be authorize by the domain controller. For supporting Win98 and
Win95 client, you are required to install one Wins server inside your organization and do a
static map both of the client. Your organization also support FTP server and you need to
secure the communication between host and server using the IPSec technology.

In order to make your domain is working under separate organization, you are
required to setup a simple network as shown in figure above.

Note: IP Address range that can be used: 10.0.X.1 until 10.0.X.20

Tasks:

1. Make a group of 4 members

2. Setup all the services involve in this environment
3. Apply all router configuration that you have learned to ensure your network is
reachable, secure and reliability.
4. Configure ACL on router to permit only 10 IPs to access network 10.1.60.0, permit only
2 PCs to telnet all networks and deny all incoming IPs except from the nearest domain.

Scenario

You need to configure a network contains the following elements:

Server 1  DNS with domain name Tioman.com

 IP Address : 182. 0.25.5
 Software service : FTP with port no 303

Server 2  IP Address: 182.0.25.10

 Software service : Telnet

Client 1  IP Address: 182.0.25.60

Client 2  IP Address: 182.0.25.65

Each configuration must meet the following requirements:

 The FTP service only can be accessed by Client 2 using the Internet browser and a
command prompt.
 Name resolution resolved by Hosts file whenever the DNS is facing a problem.
 On Server 2, the administrator want to view a contains of the hosts file which located
at Client 2. This can be done using edit command.

For each configuration, you must represent them with detail explanation and an
appropriate screenshot. It also must have verification and reason. All the configuration
must be compile as a proper user manual.
LAB ASSESSMENT 1 (10%)
Instruction:

This practical must be done by a group of 4 person.

The report must consists of :

 all related print screens and description on how and what you are doing
 all verification and validation on each testing
 possible the Active Directory logical diagram represents the overall design.
Please use Microsoft Visio to illustrate the diagram.
 a script using batch files

Scenario:

As an IT Manager, you are required to implement one domain integrated with Active
Directory to suit your organization needs. You also need to consider the consistency
and fault tolerance of your domain controllers inside your domain.

Inside your organization, there are three (3) departments which are Sales, HR and
Marketing Department. Each department have four (4) staffs. Under Marketing
Department, there is sub department called Auditing. You are required to create OUs
and users and it must be written in a single script using Directory Service Tools.

By grouping all staffs under Auditing, you need to allocate one shared folder at ServerB
which is mapping throughout the network. Only one of them is given a full permission
to any document in that folder meanwhile the rest only can view the document.
