period in Alif Garments, Ltd, Gazipur.

Abstract
I have used two types of data in my report that is the Primary data and Secondary data.
Although to prepare my report we have faced some problems, I have completed the report
successfully. The main objectives of this report are to provide company overview, to
reveal management and HRM planning and discuss all HRM & compensation Policy of
Alif Garments Ltd.

Alif Garments Ltd. is the sister concern of Alif Group, started in 2003. It was enlisted in
BGMEA in 1984 and also going to be included as a member of BSCI. The business lines
of Alif Garments Ltd. are manufacturing and export the readymade garments and import
the fabric & accessories. Its factory is located 235/B, TEJGOAN I/A, Dhaka. Alif
Garments Ltd.
is specialized in full range of children’s wear for all seasons. They are also well equipped
to cater any selective range of customized ready made garments for both man and
woman.

They are working with some of the world’s reputed buyers. They are working and
executing orders with Wal-Mart, world-renowned buyer, on regular basis. They export
90% of their garments to Europe Market & 10% to USA & Canada Market. The export
sells yearly increased by 10-20% and sometimes sells yearly decreased 5-10% during the
year 1983-2008. Competition level is increasing in abroad market. Competition will be
stiffer after 2005 when multi-fiber will be phased out. Alif Garments Ltd. is one of the
small categories in the RMG industry Bangladesh. It has a personnel and administration
department. The total numbers of employees are 1200.

The Managing Director is the head of the executive management team. Below in there are
directors and factory Manager. Under the direct supervision of the Factory manager a
number of departments are controlled.
