Notes:
1) In order to comply with Data Protection requirements, figures of less than 5 have been supressed and figures between 5 and
above have been rounded to the nearest 10.
2) '-' Indicates a base value of less than 5.
3) The Apprenticeship vacancy on-line system went live in Dec 08 which is why data for 2008/09 Q1 is not available.
4) Full quarters are as follows: Quarter 1: Aug to Oct. Quarter 2: Nov to Jan. Quarter 3: Feb to Apr. Quarter 4: May to Jul unless
individual months are stated.
5) Number of applications made to vacancies which are managed entirely via Apprenticeship vacancies. This does not include
applications made to vacancies which are advertised on an employer's own website (where a candidate has clicked through
onto the employer's website via Apprenticeship vacancies).
6) Candidates can change and correct their details at any time. Occasionally this can result in small changes to the historical
data.
7) The tables in the spreadsheets display data by academic year quarters. Please note the latest quarter may not be complete if
that period has not passed completely and may only contain one or two months of data. The data coverage is set out on the
column heading.
8) There are seasonal trends in the data and there are also many other reasons why data can fluctuate by quarter causing data
spikes. These include events (such as Apprenticeship Week), marketing campaigns and press coverage. Therefore care must
be taken when comparing quarterly data.
9) Where possible sub totals are used to indicate figures for Traineeships and Apprenticeships separately, however main totals
include Traineeships and any vacancies categorised as unknown.
10) A grey cell indicates the value is unavailable.
