"Spanish Serenade" by Tatiana Mikova Featured on "Performance Today"

(American Public Media)

Los Angeles, CA, February 19, 2018 --(PR.com)-- Czech composer Tatiana Mikova to feature her
chamber piece for nonet, “Spanish Serenade” on America's most popular classical music program,
“Performance Today.” Her performance airs on Monday, February 19, at 9:00am EST.

The Work: “Spanish Serenade”

“Spanish Serenade” is a unique blend of Spanish rhythm and phenomenal Czech musicality. Tatiana
Mikova composed the work in the fall of 2003 for an event in Switzerland. In 2004, the renowned Czech
Nonet - a chamber music ensemble with 100 years of tradition, recorded the work. The Czech Nonet
regularly performs the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, Louis Spohr and Johannes Brahms.

Another notable Mikova piece is “Fantasia on Moravian Themes” - a composition for nonet inspired by
her birthplace, Morava.

The Composer: Tatiana Mikova

Mikova uniquely bridges the two worlds of classical and film composition. She is recognized for her
classical composition skill as well as instrumentation knowledge.

Composing and arranging her own music for film and TV since 2001, Mikova's repertoire includes
several feature films, shorts and documentaries. The City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra performed
Mikova's scores in Smecky studios in Prague.

While Mikova writes in a vast array of genres and instrumentations (symphony orchestra, world,
electronic instruments and their combination), her aesthetic favors drama and dark genres.
