About the Media Charge_Ball Size & Density Spreadsheet ...

Scope :

The Media Charge_Ball Size & Density spreadsheet was designed to aid in the determination of the Actual Size and
Density of a solid body (like a grinding ball), based on the Archimedes Principle.

Theoretical Framework :

The Archimedes Principle allows for the quick determination of the actual size and density of any solid body submerged
in a known weight of liquid, on the basis of the following 3 measurements, using an appropriate weighing scale of the
maximum available accuracy:

w1 = weight of the solid, gr

w2 = weight of a given volume of clean water, gr
w3 = weight of the same volume of water, but fully submerging into it the solid under analysis, without
touching the bottom of the water container, gr

According to the Archimedes Principle, the Volume of the solid is given by:

V = (w3 – w2)/ water , cm3 (1)

the Actual Density of the solid is given by:

 b = w1/V =  water w1/(w3 – w2) , gr/cm3 o ton/m3 (2)

and finally, its Equivalent Spherical Diameter is given by:

d = (6000 V/)1/3 , mm (3)

Data Input :

All data required by the calculation routine must be defined in each corresponding unprotected white background cell
of the here attached Data_File worksheet. Gray background cells contain the results of the corresponding formulas
there defined and are protected to avoid any accidental editing.
