MIRACLES OF LIFE

Changing water into wine

(John 2:1-11)

The first miracle of Jesus took place in the village of Cana, in Galilee. Jesus, His Mother
Mary, and His disciples were quests at a wedding. The wine supply ran out, and through
the urging of His Mother, Jesus had six water pots filled to the brim with water. He then
had the master of ceremonies taste the water that was now wine. The master of
ceremonies then called the bridegroom over and said to him, "Everyone serves the good
wine first, and then the inferior wine after the quests have become drunk. But you have
kept the good wine until now".

Healing a leper

(Matthew 8:1-3, Mark 1:40-42)

After preaching the "Sermon on the Mount" (Matt 5-7), Jesus came down the hillside
followed by a large crowd. A leper approached Him, knelt before Him worshiping, and
pleaded, "If you want to, you can heal me". Jesus touched the man, and said to him "I want
to, be healed". And instantly the leper was healed.

Catching a great number of fish

(John 21:4-11)

After the Resurrection, Jesus stood on the beach of the Sea of Galilee while several of His
disciples were fishing, but the disciples did not know it was Jesus. He called out to them
and asked if they caught any fish. They answered "No." He then told them to cast the net
on the right side of the boat, and they will find some. So they cast it, and now they were
not able to haul it in because there were so many fish. Realizing the Man on the shore was
Jesus, the disciples brought the boat to shore with the net full of fish. There was 153 large
fish in the net, and though there was so many, the net was not torn.

Healing a blind man

(Mark 8:22-26)

In Bethsaida some people brought a blind man to Him and begged Him to touch him. Jesus
took the blind man out of the village, and when He had put saliva on his eyes and laid His
hands on him, He asked the man if he could see. The man answered he could see people
but they looked like trees walking. Then Jesus laid His hands on his eyes again, and the
man’s sight was restored, he saw everything clearly.

Feeding the 4000 men and their families

(Matthew 15:29-39, Mark 8:1-10)

Jesus passed along the Sea of Galilee, and went up into the mountain, where He sat down.
Great crowds came to Him, bringing their sick, and He cured them. The crowd was with
Jesus for three days and had nothing to eat. Feeling compassion for the crowd, He asked
His disciples if they had any loaves. They came up with seven loaves and a few small fish.
Then ordering the crowd to sit down, He took the seven loaves and the fish, and after
giving thanks, He broke them and gave them to His disciples, and the disciples gave them
to the crowds. And all of them ate and were filled, and the scraps were picked up, filling
seven baskets. Those who had eaten were 4000 men, besides women and children.

PARABLES OF JESUS
The Parable of
a Lamp under a Basket
Matt 5:14-16; Mk 4:21, 22; Lk 8:16,17; Lk 11:33-36
Luke 8:16-17 "No one, when he has lit a lamp, covers it with a container, or puts
it under a bed; but puts it on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light.
For nothing is hidden, that will not be revealed; nor anything secret, that will not be
known and come to light."
Luke 11:33-36”No man, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar, nor under a
basket, but on a stand, that those who enter in may see the light. The lamp of the
body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of
light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. Therefore see whether
the light that is in you isn’t darkness. If therefore your whole body is full of light,
having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright
shining gives you light."
The Parable of
a Wise Man's Foundation
Matt 7:24-27; Lk 6:47-49
Luke 6:47-49 Everyone who comes to me, and hears my words, and does them, I
will show you who he is like. He is like a man building a house, who dug and went
deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke
against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
But he who hears, and doesn’t do, is like a man who built a house on the earth
without a foundation, against which the stream broke, and immediately it fell, and
the ruin of that house was great." (web)

The Parable of
the Mustard Seed
Matt 13:31, 32; Mk 4:30-32;
Lk 13:18, 19 He said, "What is the Kingdom of God like? To what shall I compare
it? It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took, and put in his own garden.
It grew, and became a large tree, and the birds of the sky lodged in its branches."
The Parable of
the Two Sons
Matt 21:28-32 But what do you think? A man had two sons, and he came to the
first, and said, ‘Son, go work today in my vineyard.’ He answered, ‘I will not,’ but
afterward he changed his mind, and went. He came to the second, and said the
same thing. He answered, ‘I go, sir,’ but he didn’t go. Which of the two did the will
of his father?" They said to him, "The first." Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly I
tell you that the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering into the Kingdom of
God before you. For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you didn’t
believe him. but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. When you saw
it, you didn’t even repent afterward, that you might believe him.

The Parable of
the Pearl of Great Price
Matt 13:45,46 "Again, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a man who is a merchant
seeking fine pearls, who having found one pearl of great price, he went and sold
all that he had, and bought it."
