Project Proposal: Hamilton Insurance Transit Insurance
Background
The client, Hamilton Insurance, is an insurance company that is customer-driven. They have met a
challenge with their insurance agents who are responsible for registration of transit motor insurance at
border towns. They need an web based application to allow agents to register insurance so as to get rid of
the paper based system they have been using which is tedious and prone to errors.
Objectives
· To build a web application for agents to issue motor insurance cover notes for in transit vehicles
· To develop an Android application which complements the mobile application (optional).
Scope
The end result of the project will be a web application that enables the insurance agents at border towns to
register clients who are in transit for motor insurance and issue cover notes. The agents will have user
accounts that will have limited privileges and there will be an administrator to handle reversal of
transactions. The administrator has power to create accounts as well as deactivate accounts of notorious
users. The admin will also be able to cancel transactions. The system should be able to generate policy
numbers and/or cover note numbers automatically. The system will be able to print quotations for the
insurance as well as print the generated cover note. It is to be noted that insurance terms in the system
cannot be backdated.
