To summarize my internship experience, I would say that the past 7 weeks have been a great insight
into the working world of architecture. Overall, I felt as though I got a glimpse of different aspects of
the job each week, from design scheming, to site visits, to technical drawings. I also got to
experience design from an interior design scope which was fascinating. It made me realise that
working as an architect is not limited to just architecture but to many other branches like interiors
and urban designing.
I cannot express the gratitude towards my supervisor, Ms. Sophie, who took time explaining
different procedures, processes and techniques that are used when working on a project even
though she was extremely busy herself. She allowed us to understand the projects we were working
on fully and she took us on tours like to St. Regis Hotel Langkawi, Novotel Hotel KL, Stone Empire
Factory to familiarize us with work they had done in the past as well as allowing us to get a picture of
how the process of a project flows.
Working in ZDR has allowed me to understand the importance of organization and communication in
the work we produce as both these factors play a huge role in how the company has maintained a
high standard of work. I am hoping that to adapt skills revolving around these aspects which would
allow me to carry out my work productively in the future.
Once again, to summarize, this short period of working has sparked excitement in me to work in the
future to my surprise. I enjoyed the overall past weeks and I hope I would be able to work in an
environment similar to this one in the future.
