That’s why Hörmann KSE single-skinned
folding doors are a popular choice for
machine halls, vehicle depots,
agricultural buildings and similar
facilities. In fact, in any building that
does not necessarily require heating,
but where a high level of robustness is
called for.
The galvanised material with high-grade
primer powder coating makes the door
extremely weather-proof.

Designed for utmost reliability
Rectangular hollow section profiles to all
four sides give the door leaves a rigid
construction. Overall thickness 55 mm,
width 70 mm. All vertical closing edges
are equipped as standard with hollow
profiles made of high-grade EPDM to
provide effective finger-trap protection.
A characteristic feature is the integral
steel rebate to accommodate a variety

Regulations for fire-station folding
doors
In accordance with DIN 14092, part 2,
fire-station folding doors must open
90° inwards.
Opening to the outside is allowed in
exceptional circumstances, e.g. in the
case of renovations / replacements.
In addition, the Standard requires a
minimum passage width of 3500 mm
and minimum passage height of 3500
or 4000 mm.
For fitting in the opening, please bear
in mind the following at the planning
stage: due to the side-parking of the
leaf packs, an opening width of at
least 4360 mm must be considered.

Top track section with seal
The track section consists of a track, guide
rollers mounted on ball bearings, end
stops and brackets. It is anchored to the
lintel together with the tubular frame and
ensures safe, smooth-running of the door.
A lip seal (EPDM) provides reliable sealing
in the lintel area.
Aluminium handle lever set
With lever handle on both sides of the traffic leaf. The escutcheon is screwed on from
the inside - for improved aesthetics and increased security. That’s why the factory-fitted
profile cylinder is flush on the outside. Cylinder length: 75.5 + 30.5 (106) mm.
Locking rods
Locking rods on the traffic leaf and
adjoining leaf latching to the top and
bottom provide secure internal latching.
Heavy duty hinges
These zinc die-cast hinges are designed
for tough everyday use (it’s worth making
a comparison). Plastic bushes make for
a smooth-running door. Applying an
occasional drop of oil to the lubricating
nipple is the only maintenance required.
Espagnolette lock
Locking of the other door leaves via
espagnolette lock. Additional equipment
in the standard supply package: drop bolt
and hold-open stays.
Bottom threshold
The doors are provided with a Z-section
angle as a guide rail which forms the bottom
threshold. The brush seal is easy to replace.
With an uninterrupted flat floor line, 3 and
4-leaf doors are also supplied without a
threshold angle.
Plastic handle
All the door leaves are equipped with a
surface-mounted plastic handle.
Attachment to the building structure
Fixing to the building structure is as
sound as the doors themselves are solid.
For this, Hörmann supplies amply
dimensioned tubular frames 80 x 80 mm
(non insulated as standard, insulated
upon request) for the sides and top. For
the lintel area the tubular frame is supplied
as an easy-to-fit unit with track section
already attached. The tubular frame can
be plugged into concrete, masonry or
steel, or welded on.
