Structural Calculation to perform Structural Analysis for adding antenna and m RRUS on existing
Street Lightpole.
2. Design Codes:

4. Results:
The existing 29.2 ft Street Lightpole section member’s stress was calculated with the 85 mph
basic wind speed in accordance with ANSI/TIA-222-G. The result percentages are shown in the
following tables.
The member stress percentage is the ratio of the member stress to the allowable stress
expressed as a percentage. A stress ratio greater than 100% denotes an overstress.
When the basic wind speed of 85 mph is used, as shown at above table, the existing Street
Lightpole and Base Plate are adequate to support not only for existing Luminaire/Arm, signs
and cables but also for proposed antenna and equipments. For details, see the attached analysis
results.
From result for checking depth of embedment to resist lateral load per 2013 CBC section 1806.3,
existing pier footing is adequate to support current reactions.
Therefore, existing concrete pier foundation for light pole is adequate to support proposed
load.
5. Conclusions:
Based on the results from analysis for existing Street Lightpole, it is adequate to support the
proposed loads for 85 mph basic wind speed per TIA-222-G.

The installation of the proposed Personal Wireless Service facility would not compromise the
structural integrity of the Utility, Transit, or Street Light Pole and will be in compliance with any standards
imposed by the Northern California Joint Pole Association in the Operations/Routine Handbook, or the
pole owner if other than the Northern California Joint Pole Association.
The installation would comply with the California Public Utilities Commission General Order 95
and/or the National Electric Safety Code.
