 The SDG Index
• The 2017 edition of the SDG Index is a joint product of the Bertelsmann Stiftung
foundation and the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UN SDSN).
• The SDG Index includes 99 SDG-related indicators for all 17 SDGs, covering 157 of
the 193 member states of the UN.
• It provides key insights on countries’ progress towards the SDGs and comparisons
in SDG performance across countries and regions.
• SDG Index scores indicate a country’s position in a 0-to-100 spectrum, from
“worst” (score 0) to “best” (score 100) performers.
• In addition to the aggregate SDG Index, information is also available by SDG goal
and SDG indicator.
• All relevant documentation for the SDG Index can be found at: www.sdgindex.org
• The slides below provide a snapshot of the SDG Index for 115 programme
countries where the UN has a RC/UNCT and data is available.
