The continous development of modern technology has a considerable impact on our daily life.
The international travel using planes or other means of transport such as coaches or trains
offer several advantages starting with the large intercultural exchanges and ending with easier
trips for pleasure ans entertainment. Travelling all over the world enriches the way we see life
and in many situations provides the environment and the conditions towards a better
acceptance of different systems of values. Exploring is the keystone that unlocks our mind.
The more you see the more you work out that the diversity is the bind element at a global
level between cultures and not a factor of separation. The main advantages of travelling abord
seams to remain: the possibility of discovering and as a consequence changing our narrow
view into a wider one. On the other hand, the relations between several countries and local
people could result into an alteration of customs which may lead to further misunderstanding
and confusion.
For example, European women, hardly understand why Musulin females must wear black,
long dresses a veil covering all of their body. Due to the fact we live a pretty different reality
witout the boundaries and ancient misconceptions, we can not figure out the reasons for such
a law. Furthermore we have to accept their world and should not suddenly interfere with
their views other than ours. The mass-media is an excellent, international source of
information, especially the news programmes. Nevertheless, in many situations television
producers reveal only certain parts of the reality, neglecting or simply not taking into account
the opposite side. For example, watching TV channels is not the same as seeing the world for
yourself. In the mass-media, the most interesting and intriguing facts are displayed into an
item of news or a live presentation. But such partial presentations are most of the times
irrelevant and echo only certain opinions and outviews, since they are torsed either on
misconception or only particular aspects chosen according to certain unspecific criteria and
which are far from offering a holistic image of the reality presented.

To summarise, nowadays we have a large variety of options that make it easier to arrive and
see the furthest places on the Earth. We only need to operate a careful selection of what we
see on TV and in the mass-media in order to create an accurate world image. Personally, I
take the view that while the media may occasionally abuse its position of power, the benefits
greatly outweigh the disadvantages.
Test III-partea I

The two graphs reveal the number of speed cameras and the number of accident fatalities
during an eight year period. It can be outlined the increasing number of speed cameras that
arrived from 200,000 fines to a scan of one million and a half at the end of the survery.
The graph of the road accidents does not show a sharp decrease in the number of speed
cameras proportionally to the introduction of speed cameras. In the very first year the total
amount of killed people arose, being followed in the second year by a plateau period. The
only noticeable fall in the road car fatalities can be seen in the third year, when it decreased
from 3,300 dead persons to 3,000 people. In the other years the number of killed people in
car accidents slightly increased or remained at the same level, around 3,000. In the seventh
and eighth year, the total number of speed camera fines knew the highest increase, while the
road accidents fatalities also continued to rise. In the survery, the majority did not believe that
speed cameras reduced the number of accidents on the road. A little more than half the
number of people answered no, through speed cameras helped to diminish car fatalities. Only
8% did not know what to answer to the question. At the question that requested to name the
main reasons for the introduction of velocity cameras, most of them mentioned the purpose
of authorities to win more money from fines, followed by the reason of improving safety. A
little procentage did not have an explanation for the introduction of such devices. Asked what
they think about the number of speed cameras, the majority declared that there were too
many, a statement that can be echoed in the first graph showing a dramatically rise of fines.

In my opinion, education is the most relevant keynote for the development of a country. The
more you learn, the more you understand the world that surrounds you. Centuries ago children
living in the countryside did not have the possibility to continue or even start their studies,
because of the lack of financial resources. In the end they had to drop school and win their
daily bread. Nowadays, the development of technology and the improvements in life standard
give people the right to education and science. This is the main achievement that individuals
should take into consideration. The consequences of a less educated society can be put
forward over the centuries. Without essential information in the past people were not aware of
the harmful results of inappropriate body cleaning and hygiene. It was echoed worldwide that
diseases caused by viruses and bacteria could be avoided respecting an adequate hygiene.
On the other hand, today many people are in continous professional development that has as
main goal climbing the top rungs of the career ladder. At school and then at university,
history classes about past discoveries and theories are a big step ahead, because students are
taught now to overcome errors and what patch would be recommended to follow.
Furthermore, the student’s willing to search for new information in fields not enough explored
by now and their various choices determined big universities to enlarge their range of courses.
The number of people interested in studies more than in creating stable families is on an
upward trend as the merely observed positive consequence is science development. For
example, the NASA research center with the scientists’ intelligence and straightforward
qualities has succeeded in building a future strategy at the aim to deviate the meteorit’s
trajectory in the case of a threat for Earth. Another example is that of medicine which now has
the right treatments for a large scan of diseases thought to be uncurable years ago. Besides,
the people from the economic field are capable how to apply the mathematical abstract laws
in a more concret way than they did in the past. The functions depending on several
parameters help economy to prevent the falls and rises and furthermore to implemente a
strategic plan facing money problems. And the list of outcomes could go on with other several
examples that enlighten the mankind development due to high quality education.
To summarise, the growing number of people who study at tertiary level has a positive
impact on the development of the world, and the variety of courses offers opportunity to pick
up a subject in strict connection with your interests and future jobs on the market.
Test V-Partea I

The bar charts give information about what individuals living in London think about several
aspects and charactericts of the city. The survery studies the changes over a three-year period.
The fisrt chart points out the citizens’ opinion about the best things in London. In the very
first year the range of shops was seen as the best aspect about the city followed at close
distances by job opportunities and a mixture of people. On the last places there are night life
and the means of transport.
On the other hand, transport is seen also as a bad aspect in London. Furthermore the low level
of satisfaction about London transport is slightly changing in the second bar chart, where it is
put forward as the least unpleasant thing. People’s opinion about museums and art galleries
suffer fluctuations over the three years with a steady increase on the top-down best things in
London. The worst three things about London remain almost the same during the survery, this
are:cost of living, traffic congestion and crime. There are no improvements in the traffic
decongestion in the first two years, but in the third year a slightly improve can be observed.
The traffic jams decreased reaching less than 50%. Hoeever, at the same time, the level of
discontent on the issue of transport was merely improved and at the end of the survery it was
better seen in people’s eyes.
The cost of living was the main problem about living in London and remained like this until
the end of the analyse. In connection with this issue, the cost of housing was also seen as a
major disadvantage whose inconvenience grew reaching more than 35%. Due to the massive
traffic congestions the air quality and noise level had continuously become worse. The drop in
traffic congestion can be associated with the downward trend of people who believed that air
quality and noise were major problems in London. The litter was a major problem in the first
year, but it reached a turning point in the second year and then sharply decreased.
Test IV-Partea II

In my opinion, many employers have standard requirements regarding their future employees.
Sometimes such requirements can be motivated by misconceptions that may have a negative
impact. For example, people working in human resources departments generally want a
young, professionally well prepared employee, with many years of experience behind him.
All these job prerequisites are not realistic for the work market due to the paradox that can be
obviously pointed out: one individual can not have much experience in the field and be young
at the same time. Experience and wisedom come in time together with age and maturity. And
experience and young age are two concepts that cannot be satisfied at the same time. One
reason why elder people do not find top jobs is the goal of the company to increase their
capital as much as possible. And for this reason they want to hire people able to work more
than twelve hours a day, seven days a week. The global work efficiency in the case of
youngers is widely higher than in the case of people who have passed their 50’s-60’s and
consequently have different priorities. Employers usually have thoughts only in the direction
of quantity rather than quality. It is why older people with good qualifications and diplomas
can not easily find a job. These age prejudicies are a certain form of discrimination, that
breaks down the European Laws of Human Rights. Everyone has the right to become part of
one corporation despite their age as long as they fully accomplish the prerequisites, but this is
the ideal situation and not the factual one.
A solution or several solutions for changing this issue are difficult to be applied in all range
of situations, because each company has the right to establish their own internal rules and set
of requirements for their job offer. A better controlled employment strategy planned at the
level of the company could avoid the unpleasant and unfair rules resulted from the perspective
upon the age.
Promoting and revealing that quality overstands quantity should change employers’ attitude
and their general view concerning people over the age of 50. All the measures meant to
prevent older people’s lower possibility to get a better job should be developed as long-term
projects that have the aim to change the conventional outview and further on to make people
more open-minded. All these positive effects can only be obtained by showing the other side
of the situation, this is by revealing the fact that older people can be as productive for the
company as the younger ones.
Test IV-Partea I

The given diagram shows the process of how a water clock should be build.
The needed materials for the construction of the device are the following: a tape, two plastic
bottles: one with two holes, one at the base and another one on one side of bottle and another
bottle with the neck cut off, a tape, a stand, a straw and glue.
The first step is to arrange the two plastic bottles on the stand: the first one is stuck with the
tape, while the second one, located at the base does not have to be fixed at all. Then, a straw is
placed into the hole done in one side of the first plastic bottle.
The mechanism beyond the system has several steps. First of all, a person must fill the top
bottle to overflow by turning on the water tap, but during this the second hole of the plastic
recipient must be covered with a finger in order not to allow the water to pass in the second
bottle. When the upper bottle is fulfilled, we take away the finger from the hole and let the
liquid to pass in the bottle with the neck cut off. The next step is to register and note with one
pencil on the bottle the levels of water from minute to minute. To repet the experiment, the
lower plastic must be emptied and the process of the water clock can be done again for
evaluating other levels of water at different other times.
