19 More information needed on Everything was completed. I created a coggle

the investigation stage. brainstorm which contained the questions
needed for project.

20 Since it is a Monday use class I watched 3 videos by the end of class and took
time to watch videos on notes on the basics of Pro-tools 10 incl. starting a
introduction to pro tools - new track, adding kits, basic panning, etc.

experiment on pro tools guide me. Pro-tools kept on hindering me from
referring to my notes from accessing my kit section - time spent figuring out
the 20th in order to help me. how to stop issues.

plug-ins on protools in
personal project class.
Finished a lot of the weekly planner and started
developing criteria.
Firstly, this was very beneficial e because I found
a forum to download free kits and loops.
Secondly, these two videos also taught me how
to use the loops and covered plug-ins. Now have
time to watch instructive videos I should cover
the topic of plug-ins specifically.
I downloaded a couple hip-hop kits, also installed
a few more kits incl. FXpansion Tremor, Softube
heartbeat, XLN addictive drums, etc.
I focused on using my new kits and kept away
from using loops from previous time. XLN
addictive drums has been the kit I have used the
most because the snares in the kit sounded
wonderful.

I met with her and she helped me understand
ProTools a little more and talked to me about
what structure I need in my song both lyrically
and musically.
This class was very effective I managed to find
another forum in which they had tons of plug-
ins such as AmpliTube Custom Shop,
AudioWeather Free, EQ1A Equalizer etc
5 Start writing a draft of my rap.
Also have a meeting with my

Was hard - tried to write two raps on two
different topics. The meeting also went well
she gave me feedback on my document so far.
This did not go as planned because the beat I
managed to create was only 2 minutes. After
about 1 minute of the song the music that I was
adding on was the same as before because I
couldn’t come up with a way to develop the
song further. So to make up I will work
tomorrow and add onto the song
Since I did not complete yesterday’s class I
added on the extra minute to my song today. I
used a different kit, which I haven’t used
before called FX drum and bass - I added some
bass into the end of the beat.
Once again it was difficult to write the rap, I
found most of the topics that I’m speaking
about uninteresting. Brainstorming ideas was
hard as well because I wasn’t really sure what I
wanted to speak about.
I could not complete this I have been in the
hospital for the past few days because of a
throat inflammation.
I completed both beats that I needed to over
this time one called ‘outrage’ and ‘finger on the
trigger’.
The three movies I watched were Straight
Outta Compton, Hustle and Flow and All Eyez
on Me. These three movies have actually
helped me a lot because they cover the topics
that rappers sing about and why.
14- Find new samples to use that

Feb
1-6 Finish the third beat.
7- Finish the fourth beat and also

least if not the whole poster.
12- Find my beat that I will use for

I found one sample which I really liked, it
sounds almost like a dart or arrow being shot. I
found the sample from a game and one can
hear it in the song ‘outrage.’
This worked very well I created a very nice
drum sequence and the EQ1A Equalizer made
it able to change the drums from sounding
generic
journal.
I came up with a background design with
rhymes on the back. I also wanted to include a
history of rap so I’m thinking of making a
timeline.
Finished the third beat and have contacted my
expert about talking twice more
Fourth beat finished and also finished almost
all of the poster except I need to add the rap
which is still not finished on the bottom of the
poster.
I found my topic for the rap something I am
passionate about – The Parkland shooting and
gun violence. The rap is called Darkland and
the beat used was ‘outrage’ with the arrow
sound reemphasizing the idea of guns.
This went very well. I developed my rap and
beat after her feedback, she found many small
mistakes e.g. cutting the loop too early. She
also evaluate the criteria and gave me her last
words of advice for the exhibition ahead.
Finished the rap and put it on the poster
however the rap was too long for to fit the
poster also get the poster whole thing, so I only used the first half of the
printed. rap.
