4. Singapore Citizens or SPRs who have SingPass accounts, can also use e-REP to
submit REP renewal applications on behalf of their spouse and children. All renewal
of REP will be capped at a maximum of 5 years.
5. All current REP endorsements and REP cards issued prior to the launch of e-REP
will remain valid until their expiry date, provided that they have not been cancelled Websites of other Singapore

SUBMISSION THROUGH AN OVERSEAS MISSION

For those who do not have SingPass accounts or whose REPs have expired, please
furnish the following documentation when renewing your Singapore Re-Entry Permit. The
application to renew your Re-Entry Permit should be submitted at least two months before
the expiry of your existing Re-Entry Permit.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:

1. Completed Form 6

2. Copies of the following pages of your current & expired passports : page 1 (biodata
page, page with the latest expiration date, pages with Singapore Employment/
Dependant's pass stamps and pages with current and expired re-entry permits;
3. Copy of Singapore Blue Identity Card / Identity Card for National Service personnel;
4. Copies of Entry Permit and the latest Re-Entry Permit;
5. Proof of employment;
a. Employee : A recent letter not later than one month from the date of its issue,
giving the date of employment, position held and salary per month. The letter
must be addressed to the Commissioner, Immigration & Checkpoints
Authority. If you are sent by your employer in Singapore to work in Malaysia,
please also obtain a letter from your company in Singapore stating the
duration of your assignment and the expected date of completion of your
assignment in Malaysia.
b. Self employed : (Director/MO/Sole Proprietor/Partners etc)
i. Valid Practising Certificate (for applicants engaged in Professional
practices); OR
ii. Valid Business Registration Certificate (showing the names of all the
partners or directors) from the Instant Information Service, Registry of
Companies & Businesses; OR
iii. Valid vocational licence; AND
c. Personal Income Tax Notice of Assessment for the past 3 years.

d. Full-time Students : Please provide a letter from the school and a copy of
your Enrollment status as proof of your full-time student status.
6. In the case of an applicant who is below 16 years old, his/her birth certificate and
parents’ Singapore Identity Cards, marriage certificate, travel documents, Entry
Permits and the latest Re-Entry permits are also required. Applicant who is currently
studying should produce a letter stating the period of study from the education
institution. A notarised copy of the highest qualification certificate (if applicable) is
required.
7. Dependant: PR is required to furnish the main applicant’s particulars (eg. UIN,
Name, etc.). Marriage Certificate and Identity Card of his/her spouse are also
required.
8. Applicants will have to furnish additional documents and information whenever
necessary, before each application for Re-Entry Permit is considered.

NOTES :

Processing time is 6 to 8 weeks from the receipt of complete documents. All applications
should be submitted at least two months before the expiry of the Re-Entry Permit. This is
to allow sufficient time for processing. The fee for the Re-Entry Permit is RM 31 or
S$10.00 per year. Please do not send original documents or payment at the time of
submission. You will be required to make payment ONLY upon approval of your
application.

With effect from 1 March 2001, all successful applicants must return to Singapore to
collect their Re-Entry Permit. Hence, payment should be made in Singapore while
applicants report to the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority.

Please note that a Singapore Permanent Resident who remains outside Singapore
without a valid Re-Entry Permit will lose his/her PR status.
