1 Introduction

The need for companies and particular users to have greater storage capacity and ease of connection,
together with cheaper equipment costs, was found a solution, cloud computer, which we will detail
in this report.

For this we will decipher from the simplest to more complex aspects to be able to understand, or try
to explain, what this solution means.

Although we do not know how long this solution lasts, it is enough so far and even exceeds in many
cases what is requested.

2 What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is the ability to offer services over the Internet.

In a simple way, cloud computing is a technology that allows remote access to software, file storage,
and data processing via the Internet.
Cloud computing is a new technology that seeks to have all of our files and information on the
Internet, without worrying about owning enough capacity to store information on our computer.
Cloud Computing explains the new possibilities of business form, offering services over the
Internet, known as e-business (Internet business).

3 Several types of cloud computing

Cloud computing is composed of several types of functioning, each one represents the evolution of
this service.

 Public: A public cloud service is when the provider provides its resources openly to all
entities that want it, from individuals to large corporations. This type of services are those
that offer Amazon, Azure of Microsoft or Google Engine.
 Hybrid: As its name indicates this solution is composed of the two above, where a part of
the services and information is offered in a public and private way. This kind of solutions
have a lot of potential, because they allow you to grow your system by hiring third parties
what you need. This type of services can also be done with Openstack, which combines open
source tools (called projects) that use virtual resource sets to create and manage private and
public clouds.
 Private: On the other side of the scale is the private Cloud, which is one when the provider
performs the implementation and administration of the system for the entity that is part of
it. The entities that opt for this type of systems are those that have a high level of complexity
and need to centralize their resources, such as large corporations or public administrations.
The system that is most noteworthy for this type of services is Openstack, OpenSource
solution.

Cloud providers provide access to computer resources over the network, and offer a range of
additional value-added services that will bring the vendor's offer to the needs of your customer.
Depending on how complete that added value, we can say that we have a solution of one level or
another. This division cannot be considered rigid, as there are vendors who provide mixed solutions
combining characteristics of all of them. In this sense we will consider 3 modalities of services:

The so-called SaaS services "Software as a service ", software as a service. It is the highest layer
(it offers more added value), when the user finds in the cloud the final tools with which he can
directly implement the processes of his company. The applications that are supplied in this service
model are accessible through a Web browser and the user has no control over them, although in
some cases it is allowed to make some configurations. In this group, no technical knowledge is

required on technology, but the necessary knowledge is required for the use of the programs
contracted.

The so-called PaaS "platform as a service ", platform as a service. In this User Service model you
are offered the development platform and programming tools so you can develop your own
applications and control the application, but it does not control the infrastructure. It is considered an
intermediate layer.

The so-called Iaas services "Infrastructure as a service ", Infrastructure as a service (also called
HaaS). This group, is located in the lower layer (the lowest level of added value) and is a means of
delivering basic storage and computing capabilities as standardized services on the network, and the
user has to build the applications that your company needs Practically from scratch.

4 Examples of different cloud computing hosting providers

The number of providers of Cloud Computer is very large, which indicates that the business model
is very good since many companies and users each day occupy more this service.
For this reason, the following are mentioned 3 of the largest companies of services of cloud
computer.

 Amazon Web Service: It is one of the most important international suppliers and has clients
as important as Dropbox or Hootsuite. Present in more than 12 regions are positioned as a
high capacity service at competitive price.
It’s a computing service that includes a public cloud and a whole of other platforms
offered through Amazon’s web page.

 Microsoft: It offers services in the three layers of the cloud (IaaS, PaaS and SaaS). is
committed to assisting in the development and implementation of its customers in innovative
production environments. Your income in the last 12 months is estimated at about 16.7
billion dollars. And finally, for the extraordinary vision and leadership of his CEO Satya
Nadella.

 IBM: It offers the three services: IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. This is very important because it
offers customers more options, more fluid integration and better cyber security.

5 Advantages and disadvantages

Cloud computing allows access to all your applications and documents from anywhere in the world,
giving you of course much more freedom than the walls of your company or the edges of your work
table, and facilitates collaboration in GROUP by M Ayor. However, cloud computing is not for
everyone, there are pros and cons of this type of computer that is entirely based on the Internet. Here
we explain the pros and cons that will help you decide whether or not to use this type of processing.
Advantages:
 You don't need a high-powered, high-priced computer to process WEB-based applications
that are in the cloud.
 Performance improvement.
 Reduced software costs.
 Instant software updates.
 Increased data reliability.
 Universal access to documents.
 Facilitation of group collaboration.

But there are also a number of reasons why there may be users who do not want to adopt cloud
computing for their particular needs.
And below are some of the risks of cloud computing.

Disadvantages:
 A permanent connection to the Internet is required.
 It does not work well with low speed connections.
 Sometimes it can be too slow.
 Stored data may not be secure.
 Theoretically there will always be a possibility that stored data can be lost.

6 Conclusion

The cloud is already a reality for many companies, which can save a lot of money on infrastructure, greater
adaptive capacity, complete disaster recovery, and minimizing downtime.
For small and medium-sized enterprises this migration makes a lot of sense because in the cloud they have
the opportunity not only to reduce costs, but to access previously unthinkable technologies and systems in
a form of ownership.
It is worth mentioning that it has long-term scalability benefits, as more users begin to share the cloud
infrastructure, the overloading of vendor servers will increase if the company does not have an optimal
growth scheme can Lead to degradations in the service.
While this is a need for only a few companies, more and more companies are integrating these services, as
well as a greater number of users.
