INTRODUCTION

Medics Intervarsity Games (MIVG) 2017 is a program organized by the Sports and Culture
Department of AMSA Malaysia-UiTM in year 2017. This project which involves other
universities(IPTA and IPTS) is aimed to strengthen relationships among medical students in
Malaysia through sports event and providing a platform to all medical students in Malaysia
to be one of the excellent students enriched with great leadership, social skills and of course
not to neglect their academic achievements. Medic Intervarsity games is one of a kind event
that gathers the greatest brains and put their brawn to the test. In addition, this program is also
expected to encourage the involvement of medical students in sports.

Medics Intervarsity Games (MIVG) 2017 will be held at the Sports Complex UiTM, Shah
Alam and it is targeted to be a prestigious platform that gives the medical students
opportunity to play and show of their athletic skills while building a vast network among their
peers. With this, we hope that this program can generate comprehensive medical students and
they are balanced in terms of academic, physical and personalities.

GENERAL RULES
1. Athletes or team competing in the MIVG games must currently be a full time
undergraduate medical student who is taking MBBS/MD course only of their respective
institute. An athlete or team who counterfeits her/his personal details by using someone
ese’s identity will forfeits the CONTINGENT’S right to participate in the Games.
2. All participants must present their student ID card along with their MyCard/Driving
License when checking in to participate in the MIVG games or when requested by any of
the official MIVG staffs. If a photo ID card is not given at the game, then the athlete will
be considered ineligible to participate.
3. Registration will not be accepted until registration’s payment has been made.
4. Only online registrations are strictly accepted
5. Registration after the deadline will not be accepted unless under special considerations by
the organizing committee
6. Substitution of registered name will be accepted if the team leader reports it to the
registration bureau at least 1 hour before the quarantine time of the event.
7. All participants are not allowed to join 2 different games in one day except for Singing.
For example, games on the same day such as volleyball and futsal.
8. Participants are only allowed to join a maximum of two categories from a specific game
such as Badminton, Tennis and Ping Pong. In the game of badminton for example, a
participant may only join the single and mixed double category.

9. As for Track and Field events, only a maximum of 3 categories are allowed per
participant.

10. As for swimming, a participant is only allowed to join a maximum of 4 individuals and 1
relay.
11. Withdrawal from any of the event will not be refunded. Substitution of players is greatly
recommended instead.
12. Any act of disobedience to the rules and regulations of the MIVG games forfeits the
CONTIN GENT’S right to participate.

13. The Organisers reserve the right to amend the Rules and Regulations without prior
notification.
14. The Organisers reserve the right to amend any competition without prior notice to
participants. In the event of inclement weather, the Organisers reserve the right to delay
the commencement of the competition, shorten the duration of the competition or modify
the competition.
15. Should the inclement weather persist, the Organisers reserve the right to cancel, postpone
or change the date, venue and time of the games that are delayed due to inclement of
weather. Strictly, there is no refund of registration fees on request of participant(s).

16. The Organisers reserve the right to use any photograph, motion picture, recording, or any
other record of all competitions under MIVG and its participants for any legitimate
purpose, including commercial advertising.
17. While every reasonable precaution will be taken by the Organisers to ensure participant’s
safety, participants partake at their own risk. The organisers shall not be held liable for
any loss and/or damage to personal belongings. Participants are strongly encouraged to go
for a medical examination and/or consult their medical practitioner prior to registration.

18. The Organisers will not be responsible for any inaccuracy in competition involving
timings.

19. For all other participants, disputes and appeals regarding the results must be submitted in
a written format, including electronic mail within 7 days of MIVG. However, the
Organisers reserve the right not to entertain any dispute or appeal.
20. For every game, participants are allowed to wear their own jersey.

21. The organizers have the right to cancel the game if the number of participation is less than
3 teams. As for this matter, registration fees will be refund to those who have paid.
Statement of Risk

The MIVG participants are encouraged to consider their personal health and physical
condition prior to participation in the games. Such participation involves physical exertion,
fundamental skills for that sport or activity and may involve contact with other participants.
The participants, being aware of any condition predisposing them to injury or illness and in
consideration of the inherent physical exertion and possible contact involved in the games,
may wish to seek the advice of a physician prior to participation or may choose to not
participate at all. The MIVG games carry NO INSURANCE. The organising committee will
do everything possible to provide suitable and safe playing facilities with supervision.

GAME SYSTEM
One Group Method

1. If four (4), five (5) teams take parts in the competition, the game will be carry on in league
format.

2. The team with highest mark will be counted as the Champion and second highest will be as
First Runner up and so on.

3. If the participation is less than 3 teams for group or individual games, the game will be
cancel.

Two Group Method

1. Preliminary round

• If six (6), seven (7) or eight (8) teams take parts then the team will be divided into two
big groups which Group A and Group B and the game format will be league.
• The teams will be chosen based on voting.

2. Semi- final round

• Champion and first runner up from each group will be place in two different group
which is Group A and Group B :

3. Final round

• Group A’s winner will oppose with winner from Group B to decide Champion and
First Runner up.

Three Group Method

1. Preliminary round

• If nine (9), ten (10), eleven (11) teams take place in the competition, the competition
will be conducted in three Group A, B and C with league format.
• The teams will be chosen by voting.

2. Semi-final round

• Champion and First runner up from each group is entitled to enter semi-final round.
• The game will be :

Four Group Method

1. If participation is consists of twelve (12) and thirteen (13) teams, thus the team will be
divided into four (4) group; Group A, B, C and D.

BASKETBALL
1. RULES AND REGULATIONS
The matches follow rules of International Basketball Federation and General Rules of MIVG.

1. Each team should have a minimum of 8 players and 12 players maximum. 


2. Each match consists of 2 quarters. 


3. Each team will have one time out chance per quarter of 20 seconds. 


4. A deuce will result in an additional 4 minutes playtime. 


5. All grouping matches are played with a running clock while Final round is played
with stop clock.

6. Standard 5v5 basketball rules will be applied. 


7. Any team that is unable to send 5 players on court 2 minutes after the designated
match time will be disqualified. 


8. Each team would have to wear their numbered jerseys during the match. 


9. Each team would have to submit their jersey colour before the match. 


2. REGISTRATION
2.1 Every team should check in at the official table at least 15 minutes before the match
starts.
2.2 Registration only opens to medical students. Participants are encouraged to apply through
online registration
2.3 Every player must produce their student ID for verification purpose before the match
starts.

3. MATCH SYSTEM
3.1 Time allocation for the games

First half : 7 minutes
 Second half: 7 minutes
 Break interval : 45secs

Extra time: 4 minutes


3.2 Time allocation for final round

First half: 10 minutes
 Second half: 10 minutes
 Break interval: 1 minute

Extra time : 4 minutes

4. GAME RECORD
Game record is used to determine the place in standings. If two teams are tied in the game
record:

a. Head to head results

5. PUNCTUALITY 


The time allocation is strictly limited. Every team must be alert. There will be no warm-
up session. Each team will have to find their own time for warming-up. If the team does
not show up after the third calling during the transition time, the team will be
automatically eliminated.

VOLLEYBALL
1. REGISTRATION

I. Registration opens to MEDICAL STUDENTS ONLY.

II. Only one team is allowed to represent one university


III. Every player MUST produce their student ID & MyCard/Driving License for
verification purpose before the match starts.
IV. Every team should check in at the official table at least 15 minutes before the
match starts.
V. Organiser has the right to disqualify any team that disobey the terms that have
been stated.

2. RULES AND REGULATIONS

This match follows rules of International Volleyball Federation and General Rules of MIVG
2017.
I. Each team should have minimum 6 players and maximum 12 players.

II. Any team whom is unable to send registered players on court 5 minutes after the
designated match time will be disqualified.

III. Each team would have to wear their numbered jersey during the match.

IV. Each team would have to submit their jersey colour before the match.

V. We have prepared 2 courts for this match.

3. MATCH SYSTEM
Standard 6v6 volleyball rules will be applied.

• The competition will be conducted in 2 groups, Group A and Group B with league
format.

• The match will be played by volleyton format(31 points)

II. Semi-final round


• Champion and First runner up from each group is entitled to enter semi-final round.
• The match will be conducted using best of 3 set.

III. Final round


• The match will be conducted using best of 3 set.

4. GAME RECORD

Game record is used to determine place in standings. The winner will be based on:

5. PUNCTUALITY
The time allocation is strictly limited. Every team must be alert. If the team does not show up

FUTSAL
PLAYERS REGISTRATION
i. Only one team is allowed to represent one university which has 10 players
including substitutes.

Number of Players
➢ Minimum number of players to start match : 5, one of whom shall be a goalkeeper
➢ Minimum number of players to finish match : 3
➢ Maximum number of substitutes : 5

Players’ Equipment
➢ Usual equipment :
✓ Numbered shirts
✓ Shorts or track bottom
✓ Socks
✓ Appropriate footwear

Duration of the Game


➢ Duration :
Two equal periods of 7 minutes.
✓ Total duration per game excluding stoppage time is 14 min
✓ Half-time : Maximum of 3 minutes

The Start of Play


➢ Procedure :
✓ Coin toss followed by kickoff

✓ Opposing team waits outside the center circle
✓ Ball deemed in play once it has been touched
✓ The kicker shall not touch the ball before someone else touches it
✓ Ensuing kick-offs taken after goals scored and at start of second half

Ball in and out of Play


➢ Ball out of play :
✓ When it has wholly crossed the goal line or touchline
✓ When the game has been stopped by a referee
➢ Lines : Touchlines and goal lines are considered inside the playing area

Method of Scoring
➢ When the whole of the ball has passed over the goal line, between the goal posts and
under the crossbar (except by illegal means).
➢ The futsal pass back rule to the goalkeeper is in effect.
➢ 2 teams will be advanced to the knockout stage.
➢ Game is played following FIFA rule.

LOCATION
All matches will be held in the Kolej Perindu’s Futsal Court in UiTM. (standard size court)

DISAPPROVAL
If there is any conflict or argument between players or coach or referee, the team shall be
penalized and disqualified from the game.
The organizer reserves the right to change the terms and conditions without prior notice. The
decisions are final. For any objection, please fill in the objection form and it must be
accompanied by RM500 cash. The cash will not be returned whether the objection is rejected
or accepted.

LATE COMERS
Only 10 minutes will be given to players who are late and subsequently the opposition will be
given an immediate winning

HANDBALL
1. RULES AND REGULATIONS

This match follows rules of International Handball Federation and General Rules of MIVG.

1. This game consists of two (2) categories, male and female.


2. Only one (1) team from each medical school is allowed to participate for each
category.
3. Each team should have minimum 7 players (6 outfield players and a goalkeeper) and
maximum of 12 players.
4. Each match consists of 2, 10 minutes halves with 2 minutes half-time break. (7
minutes halves with 1 minute half-time break will be applied if participation of more
than 5 (five) teams)
5. Each team will have one time out chance per quarter of 40 seconds only during semi-
final and final games.
6. Standard 7 versus 7 handball rules will be applied.
7. Any team who is unable to send 7 players on court 5 minutes after the designated
match time will be disqualified.
8. Each team would have to wear their numbered jersey during the match.
9. Each team would have to submit their jersey colour during the match.
10. Any Rules and Regulations may change from time to time throughout the event
depends on the conditions.

2. REGISTRATION

* 40 seconds time-out chances can only be used during semi-final and final games

NETBALL
1.0 COMPETITION RULES
The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulations of the
International Federation of Netball Association.

2.0 REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS/ TEAM FORMATION


2.1 Only one team per university is allowed to participate.
2.2 Each team should compromise of 12 players including substitute.
2.3 All players must be registered prior to the tournament.
2.4 Only registered players are allowed to play in the tournament.

3.0 COMPETITION SYSTEM


3.1 Preliminary round
3.1.1 Matches in this round will be on a LEAGUE basis
3.1.2 The participating teams will be divided into two (2) groups (A&B).
3.1.3 The groupings shall be determined by drawing of lots.
3.1.4 The champion and first runner-up from each group will be proceeding to the semi-final.
3.2 Second round
3.2.1 Matches in this round will be on a SINGLE ELIMINATION basis.
3.2.2 The champion and the runner-up from each group will be competing against each other
in the semi-finals as follow:
Group A champion vs Group B runner-up
Group B champion vs Group A runner-up
3.2.3 The top seeds from the semi-finals will advance to the finals

4.0 SUBSTITUTION
4.1 Injury
When a player is injured or unable to continue with the game, the game will be paused for
one (1) minute to determine if the player can continue playing. The decision will be made by
sports officials.
4.2 Reserved player
Players who are injured or are unable to continue with the games can be replaced. The match
will resume after the replacement is made.
Players who are late are not allowed to enter the game unless the sports officials and the
opposing team’s captain are notified. Player will then enter match in the following situation:
4.2.1 After the goals have been scored. In this case, the player will take the position left
vacant.
4.2.2 After the game has been stopped due to injuries or illness.
4.2.3 After the half-time.

5.0 REFEREES
Qualified referees will be provided.

7.0 DECISION OF GROUP RESULTS


7.1 League
7.1.1 Points
Win - 3 points
Draw - 1 point
Lose – 0 point
7.1.2 If two or more team obtain the same points, the winner will be determined as such :
The competition will resume after a break of three (3) minutes. Both sides have to toss a coin
to determine the centre pass and goal post. The game will then continue with three
transmission centre pass on rotation basis. The final decision is determined after three (3)
goals.

8.0 TEAM AND PLAYING TIME


8.1 Team
Each team should have at least seven (7) players before the game starts. A team shall concede
a walkover if the team line-up fails to meet the team composition criteria.
8.2 Playing time
Playing time is 7 minutes/3 minutes/7 minutes. Teams will change courts side after each half-
time.

9.0 DELAYS OR ABSENCE


Any teams more than 15 minutes late after the start of the tournament will automatically be
disqualified. A free win of 6 goals will be given to the opponent team.

10.0 GAME POSTPONEMENT OR TERMINATION


Organiser reserves the right to postpone/ cancel any/all game(s) due to unforeseen
circumstances.

11.0 TEMPORARY SUSPENSION AND DISCIPLINARY ACTION


11.1 Player who has been given red card is not allowed to play in that particular game.
11.2 Player who had been ruled out for hitting opponent’s player or misbehaving will not be
allowed to play in the tournament. Further disciplinary action will also be taken.

PING PONG
The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulation of The World
Squash Federation

1. COMPETITION SYSTEM (subject to change)

▪ Competition is based on single round-robin

▪ Every match will be decided based on the best of 3 sets.

▪ Each game is played to 11 points, except that if the score reaches 10-all, the game
continues until one player leads by two points.

▪ Participants will be divided by groups:

• Women’s Single: Group A, B

• Men’s Double: Group A, B, C, D

• Mix Double: Group A, B

• Men’s Single: Group A, B, C, D, E

▪ Winner will receive 3 points, loser will receive none.

▪ 4 participants/ pairs will enter the semifinal; exception in men’s single whereby 5
players will enter the semifinal.

▪ In the event whereby 2 or 3 individuals/ pairs receive the same number of points,
additional single-elimination match(s) will be done where the winner will proceed to
the semifinal.

▪ Single-elimination tournament system will commence from the semifinal onwards.

2. REFEREES

▪ Qualified referees will be provided (Number of referees = 5)

3. VENUE

▪ Dewan Pusat Sukan UiTM, Shah Alam.

4. DELAYS OR ABSENCE

▪ Registration opens 30 minutes before game starts.

▪ Players who are unable to register at least 10 minutes prior to match will be
disqualified.

TENNIS
1. Rules and Regulations

A. This tournament will be based on the rules and regulations by International Tennis
Federation, Malaysia Tennis Federation and Medic Intervarsity Games (MIVG).
B. The organisers reserve the right to change the time of the competition, shorten the
competition or modify the competition.
C. Break will be given depending on the situations (medical attention, weather,
technical problem etc.) during the event.

2. Registration

A. Please refer general rules of Medic Intervarsity Games (MIVG).


B. Only one player is allowed to play in one game.
C. The categories of tournament are as follows:
▪ Men’s single
▪ Women’s single
▪ Men’s double
D. The list of all players must be submitted to the umpire according to the
arrangement of matches (as mentioned above) 10 minutes before the tournament
start.
E. No substitution of players is allowed after the tournament has start.
F. Only 2 international or national athletes are allowed to represent the university.
G. Please bring your student card for registration purpose.

3. Tournament system

A. For grouping will be decided by 5 pro set first to reach 5 sets.


B. For semi-final and final will be decided by 7 pro set first to reach 7 sets.
C. Cut off time (COT) for each grouping fixture is 30 minutes & 40 minutes for
final round. Organiser reserve the right to stop the game and pick the winner
(with the higher point scored) if the game takes longer than COT.
D. 10 minutes break will be given for final round.
E. The Tie Break System will not be applied to all events.

4. Late comers

A. Only 5 minutes will be given to players who are late and subsequently the
opposition will be given an immediate victory.

5. Others

A. Please bring along your own equipment and refreshment.


B. Participants are advised to stay at the court until finish to ensure the smooth-flow
of the event.
C. Please give fully cooperation and consideration to the organiser during the
tournament.

BOWLING
Rules & Regulations

1. This competition is open to all existing medical students in Malaysia.

2. Player(s) can register for women’s singles, men’s singles, men’s doubles, women’s
doubles or team category.

3. Singles and Team categories are limited to sixteen(16) participations while Doubles
category is restricted to ten(10) participations only. After the registration limit is
reached, the registration will be closed prior to the deadline.

4. Each team comprises 4 bowlers (2 males & 2 females) from the same school.

5. Only 1 reserve bowler is allowed per team and he/she must be registered in the team
list.

6. Format of Play

3 games will be played in total.

a. Singles

Each bowler’s total pinfall over the 3 games shall determine the total pinfalls
for the singles events (Men & Women).

b. Doubles

This event will consist 2 bowlers in the registered team bowling 3 games each.
The total pinfall for each doubles shall determine the total pinfalls for the
doubles event. The marks in double category will be brought into singles
category as well

c. Team

This event will consist 4 bowlers (2 males and 2 females) in the registered
team bowling 3 games each. Combined pinfalls of these 4 bowlers shall

determine the total pinfalls for the team event. The marks for team category
will be brought into mens doubles, womens doubles and singles category

6. Substitution

Substitution of bowler is allowed, but once a bowler is substituted, he/she will not be allowed
to bowl in the subsequent games. Substitution of bowlers can only be done before the whole
event has been started.

7. Check In Procedure

All bowlers are to report at least 20 minutes before the games starts. Failure to report on time
will cause a bowler to be disqualified and the respective reserve will be called. The clock in
the bowling center will be the official timepiece.

8. Bowling on Wrong Lanes

When the lead-off bowler bowls on the wrong lane and the error is discovered before another
bowler has bowled, a dead ball shall be declared and the bowler will be required to re-bowl
on the correct lane. When more than one bowler has bowled on the wrong lane, the game
shall be completed without adjustments and the next game shall be started on the correctly
scheduled lane.

9. Slow Bowling

Slow bowling is not allowed and bowlers must bowl when it is their turn to do so.

10. Dress Code

Bowlers are required to wear T-shirt with sleeves and trousers (slack) or track bottom.
Wearing jeans are not allowed during competition. Every players are expected to bring their

11. Prizes & Awards

Prizes in the form of medals will be awarded to the top 3 winners of the respective categories.

12. Protest

Protest involving eligibility or general playing rules must be submitted in writing to the
Committee within 24 hours of the games in which the infraction occurred.

13. Errors

Errors in scoring or in calculation must be highlighted to the officials immediately. The time
limit for registering protests on scoring error shall be 30 minutes from the end of the games
for the tournament. Each protest under this rule must be specified in it and shall not be
constructed to cover a previous or similar violation.

14. Special Note

a. Bowlers are requested to refrain from swearing on the lanes.

b. Bowlers shall restrict themselves to their respective lanes and exercise consideration for all
participants.

c. Bowlers wearing soft rubber soles on their non-sliding foot may be barred from further
bowling. No powder is allowed on the bowler’s area.

d. Bowlers are not allowed to sand or apply any form of liquid or chemical on the surface of
the bowling balls during any time of the tournament.

1. GENERAL

3. AMENDMENTS OF THE GAMES

- The match will be commenced according to the “Semi-League”system


- All participating teams will be divided into 4 groups.
- Each group will consist of 5, 4 or 3 teams.
- Due to time constraints, a full League system will not be held
- Instead, each team will play at most of TWO (2) games against the other two
teams in the group.

team will be automatically eliminated.
- Only 15 minutes will be given to the team that comes late and subsequently the
opposition will be given the free winning points of 3.

TRACK & FIELD


1.0 Opening Ceremony

1.1 All participating university shall be represented in the Opening Ceremony, at

minimum by:

 A placard for each participating delegation bearing the name of the university

 The official flag of each participating university.

1.2 Both shall be presented in the Opening Ceremony venue in a way and at a time to be

proposed by the organizer

2.0 Participation.

2.1 Qualification:

 All medical students of respective universities are allowed to participate (no

age limitation)

 Team leaders must present athletes’ student card upon arrival, or other official

documents to the organisers in charge for participation.

 There is a limit of 16 participation per category for track event and 10


participation per category for field events

3.0 Rules & Regulations :


3.1 Track & Field

 A maximum of two athletes from any one university can compete in

each event with the exception of the Relays (refer 3.3)

 Three athletes can initially be entered per event, provided each has

achieved the qualification but only two will be permitted to compete.

 All races are started by the firing of a gun by an official at the starting line

(track events only).

 For races up to and including one lap of a track, the runners must stay for the

entire distance within lanes marked on the track (track events only).

 The winner in each race is the runner whose torso first breaks the vertical plane

of the finish line (track events only).

 Any athletes that ‘false start’ (start before the starting shot) will be

disqualified.

 Races are timed by stopwatches(track events only).

 Owing to the number of contestants in a competition, qualifying rounds, or

heats, are held to narrow the contestants down to the fastest runners (track

events only).

 All athletes should present themselves to the officials in charge 5

minutes prior to each events. Failure to do so will result in disqualification.

 Any trials where the athlete hit/touch the border line will not be counted

for ranking. (field events only)

 Any injuries to the athlete before, during and after is on the athletes fault and the
organisers shall not be responsible for it. However ambulance and paramedic
team will be provided as first aid to the athlete.

 Any athlete that disobey the rules and regulations provided by the officials are

bound to PENALTY and may NOT be allowed to participate.

3.2 Relay teams

 Every Member may enter one team for each relay race, composed by a

maximum of six athletes.

 Any four athletes among those entered for the competition, whether for

the relay or for any other event, may then be used in the composition of

the team.

3.3 Team Uniform

 All athletes of the team shall wear the same colour competition uniform

during the competition and in all ceremonies.

 The uniform must conform to Track and Field Rules and Regulations

by organizers.

 All Members must wear their team uniform to the accreditation centre

for inspection, during the registration procedure.

3.4 Equipments

 Starting blocks for track events is optional.

 Only sport shoes and spike shoes are allowed.

 Jewelleries or watches or any accessories are not allowed to be worn

during the events.

4.0 Scoring

4.1 Track

• The winner of each individual event will score 8 points, the second will score 7
points, the third 6 points, and so on.

• In relay events, the scoring shall be as follows; 1 st – 15 points, 2 nd – 11 points, 3 rd


– 7 points, 4 th – 3 points

• Team Scores Points achieved by men and women will be combined and the overall
winner of the MIVG Track and Field will be the team with the most combined points.

• If two or more teams achieve an equal number of points in the final score for any
place in the competition, the procedure to determine whether there has been a tie is the
following:

• The team which, in the greater number of events, has achieved more first places, shall
be awarded the higher place
• If the teams are still equal following the application of the above, the team with the
greater number of second places, etc., shall be given the higher place position
• If the teams are still equal following the application of the above, it shall be
determined to be a tie.

4.2 Field

 3 trials are given for each events in field and the best trial will be taken into
account for ranking.

 10 points for first place, 9 for second, on down to 1 point for tenth.

 If an athlete does not start or does not finish or is disqualified, the team shall
receive no points for that athlete but the remaining teams will receive the same
number of points as if all athletes had completed the event, e.g. if an athlete
does not achieve a height in Pole Vault, the winner will still score 10 points.

AERODANCE
1.0 REGISTRATION

1.1 Each team can only register minimum 7 and maximum 10 players with
1 manager on the registration form.
1.2 Each team that participate in the competition must be registered as full
time student under their university respectively
1.3 Each competitor can only register under one team to represent their
university.
1.4 Each university need to register their team through online registration.
A copy of student card of each player must be provided during
registration on the day of the competition.
1.5 No changes are allowed after the closing date of registration.
1.6 Each university can only send one team which consist of male or
female only or mixed.
1.7 Each registered player ( excluding manager) is required to pay
RM 50.00 for the registration fee.

2.0 STAGE AREA


2.1 Limitation
Competitors, coach, and manager of any team is not allowed to enter
the judges' area unless permission is given by the Chief Judge.
Competitors and coach must wait for their turn as specified and should
wait for the signal from the organizer to start the performance.

3.0 DRESS CODE


3.1 Profile
3.1.1 Hair must be secured closed to the head.
3.1.2 Leotard, unitard, two-piece leotard, short and close fitting tops
are not allowed. However, long tight with shirt is allowed.

3.1.3 Large ( loose ) clothes, additional items / props ( sticks, balls,


etc ) and accessories ( watch, jewellery, belts, bands, etc) are
not allowed.
3.1.4 Attire depicting war, violence or religious themes is forbidden.
3.1.5 Sequined attire for men is not permitted.
3.1.6 The undergarments should no be seen.
3.1.7 The competitors must wear sport shoes and proper attire for the
performance and are responsible to provide their own attire.
The attire of team members can be different but should be
coordinated.

4.0 MUSIC
4.1 Any style of music may be used and can be mixed. Each team can only
use one recording tape / disc for the performance. No changes of the
tape / disc during the performance.
4.2 Technically the music must be clean and without any abrupt cuts,
giving a sense of one music piece. It should flow, with a precise start
and precise ending. If included, sound effects should be well
integrated into the recording respecting the musical phrases and
structure and giving the feeling of unity. The recording and mixing of
music must be of professional quality, well integrated and with high
standards of sound reproduction. Original music and sound effects are
allowed.
4.3 Cassette player/ disc player is provided by the organizer during the
competition. Individual player is not allowed. Each group is required
to hand in their recording tape/disc to the organizer at least 2 days
before the actual competition takes place. Each group can also send
their soundtrack via email ( tiqahzaros@gmail.com ).
4.4 The organizer is not responsible to the sound quality of the music.
Each team need to ensure the music is recorded in high quality and
recording tape/disc is in good condition.
4.5 Minimum time for the performance is 5 minutes and the maximum
performance is 7 minutes with tolerance of 5 seconds and less. Time
will be count as soon as the music start, not by the early movement
unless both start at the same time.

5.0 DELAY
If any delay occurs due to natural disaster or any unepexpectted accident such
as transportation problem on the same date of the competition, the manager of
the team should contact the organizer immediately.

5.1 Turn for the performance is decided by voting and cannot be changed.
5.2 Each team need to present 30 minutes before the rehearsal and
confirms the attendance of the team to the organizer.
5.2 Each team should be ready 20 minutes at the venue before the program
start.

6.0 OBJECTION
Any objection should meet the formal requirement such as the reason of the
objection and is given properly to the organizers.

7.0 GENERAL INFORMATION

7.1 The organizer is not responsible for any injuries or accidents that occur
before, during, and after the competition.
7.2 If any of the competitors has any unexpected incident during the
performance such as faint, the performance should be continued with
the remaining members of the team. The performance may start again
or continue from the time off according to the Chief Judge.
7.3 If there is any damage to the music before or during the performance,
the team should continue with the provided music. Thus, if any
member/team cannot continue the performance after the performance
has started or any interference occur during the performance, Chief
Judge will decide whether the team can start the performance again or
should stop the performance and wait for the other team to finish
before starting a new performance.
7.4 The organizer has right to add or to decide on any additional rule that
is not stated in this rules and regulations.
7.5 Organizer's decision on any doubt or objection is final.

The tournament will be conducted in accordance with the rules and regulation of The World
Squash Federation
1. REGISTRATION OF PLAYERS/TEAM FORMATION
- Each university may enter two(2) participants for each individual event.
-All players must be registered prior to the tournament starting.
-ONLY registered players are allowed to play in the tournament.

2.COMPETITION SYSTEM
-Players will be group into 2 groups
-2 best players from each group will compete in semi-final round.
-The winner of rally score 1 point and serve to begin next rally.
-Each game is played to 11 points, except that if the score reaches 10-all, the game continues
until one player leads by two points.
-A match in group tournament is the best of 3 games, and the best of 5 games for semi final
and final round.

CHESS
1. RULES AND REGULATION

This tournament will be based on the Rules and Regulation by Federation Internationale
Des Echecs (F.I.D.E) and Medic Intervarsity Olympiad (MIVG).

2. REGISTRATION

2.1. One university can only send ONE team.


2.2. Each team must have 3 male players and 2 female players. No substitution
players are allowed.
2.3. The list of all players must be submitted to the Arbiter during the registration, 15
minutes before the tournament starts. The list of players must be arranged exactly
according to the seating of board arrangement and submitted to the Arbiter
before every round start. For instance, the player selected to be in Number 1 seat
is not allowed to play in board Number 2 for each round. Players who played not
according to their Number of board, will lose immediately.
2.4. Only male players are allowed to play with male players and female players with
female players.

3. GENERAL RULES

3.1. Time allocated for each game for one player is only 30 minutes. The game ends
when there is either check-mate or when 30 minutes is up. Players who have
exceeded with time limit will lose only if the opposition still has at least one
pawn or one piece with higher power or has check-mate abilities. If not, game
will end with tie.
3.2. Players who are absent, the opposition are allowed to start the clock ticking.
3.3. The ‘Touch Move’ method will be used. The chess piece that was hold must be
moved. However, this is also up to the opposition’s permission.
3.4. Player that touch the opponent’s piece must make a move to kill that piece, if the
move is allowed. Players are able to ask opponents permission to refuse to kill
the piece. However, it is up to the opponent to allow or not to allow.

3.5. The player of board Number 1 to Number 5 must be according to the original list
of players that had been submitted to the Arbiter. The Arbiter is allowed to cancel
the game if a team is not qualified to the rules and regulation.

4. POINTS AND WINNING RESULT

4.1. The tournament is based on Swiss Round.


4.2. Players are paired with opponents who have done equally well. For instance,
player with 2 points will be paired with other players that have 2 points.
4.3. Team pairing and tie break will be based on Swiss Manager.
4.4. All teams will have match simultaneously. For instance, if there are 12 teams,
there will be 6 matches in each round. Player Number 1 from one team will be
against player Number 1 from the other team, and so on.
4.5. Total number of rounds will be announced later based on total number of teams
participated.
4.6. Points will be given as follow:
Points based on team play, if the team won 3-2 then the team points will be 2
(MP). If there is a tie 2.5-2.5 then each team receive 1 point each (MP) and losing
is 0 (MP).
Match Point (MP): Win (2 points), Tie (1 point), Loss (0 point)
4.7. Tie break point is as follow:
1) Total team victory / Match Points (MP)
2) Total of overall individual points/ Game Points (GP)
3) FIDE-Sonneborn Berger Tie Break
4.8. If there is a tie between two teams after using the Match Point (MP), hence the
Game Point (GP) will be used to calculate individual point.
4.9. The team with highest match point (MP) will be announced as winner.
4.10. The Arbiter’s decision is final.

5. The schedule for each round will be announced later based on numbers of
participations.
6. The rules and regulations are subjected to change without prior notice. Discussion will
be made with the team manager before the tournament begins.

RUBIC’S CUBE
I. REGISTRATION
- Format: SOLO (individuals competing against one another for the fastest time)
- Every university or college are allowed to send a maximum of 2 players.
- Players are required to check in at least 15 minutes before the tournament.
Players who fail to show up or go missing after check-in will be disqualified.

II. GENERAL GAME RULES


- The regulation of this competition are generally based around the regulations set
by the World Cube Association (WCA).
- No items are allowed on the competition table(s) including cell phones, papers, or
any other electronic devices.
- Use of notes or any form of references material is not permitted.
- Disqualifiers: The Judge may disqualify a competitor or issue a warning for any of
the following issues:
o Cheating
o Competitor is disruptive and/or interferes with other competitors.
o Competitor fails to comply with competition rules.
- Any warning will result in a 5 seconds Competition penalty per incident
- In the event of any dispute, competitors must accept the final ruling of the Judge.
- GROUP PLAY: BEST OF 3
- SEMI-FINAL: BEST OF 3
- FINAL: BEST OF 3

III. CUBE RULES


- The competition requires the use of 3x3x3 Rubik’s Cube.
- Players are required to use their own cube. The organizer will not provide any
cube for this competition.
- Cube should not be damaged, marked, or otherwise altered.
- Lubricating the cube is acceptable to make the cube twist smoothly.
- However, if or any reason the cube does not function properly, falls apart or move
out of the solved state accidentally once the timer is stopped, no “do over” will be
given and the cube will be considered as unsolved.

IV. SCRAMBLING RULES


- A Scrambler will randomly mix up the cubes so they are completely scrambled.

V. TOURNAMENT PROCEDURE

- A Scrambler scrambles the cube(s) according to Scrambling procedure.
- A Judge must call ‘PENALTY’ at the time of infraction and each penalty should
be noted by the Score Taker.
- Judge do a quick general inspection to ensure thorough scrambling. Scramblers
cover the cubes (use a sheet of paper) and places the covered scrambled cubes on
the competition table.
- Competitors are given 10 seconds to inspect and are allowed touch the cube
after scrambling is done.
- Judge gives a 1-minute warning before the start of the round by calling “READY”
followed by “GO” when the warning minute has elapsed.
- As soon as the judge calls “GO”, the timers are activated by the timekeeper and
the competitors begins to solve.
- The timekeeper will record the time taken for each competitor to solve the cube.
- Once the time is stopped, competitors must not touch or move the cube until the
score taker has inspected all the cubes and the time is recorded together with any
penalty on the score sheets. Penalty for Infarction: Disqualification.
- If there is any dispute, the cubes must not be touched until the judge have resolved
the issue. Penalty for Infraction: Disqualification.

VI. SOLVED STATE


- The solved state is when each of the six sides of the cube have one solid colour
per side.
- A cube is considered solved if less than a 45 degree move is required to align the
colours.
- If one move of more than 45 degree is required, there will be a 5 seconds penalty.
- If more than one move is required, the cube is considered not solved.

GENERAL RULES AND REGISTRATION

Registration only opens to medical students. Participants are encouraged to apply through
online registration.

ONLINE REGISTRATION

1. Fill in your details in the online form provided by the Registration Biro Team
(RBT).
2. All registrants must fill in the form completely (Full name, Manager Name, &
phone number)
3. The list of pre-confirmed participants will be posted on our FIFA MIVG WhatsApp
Group and the event page itself. Be sure to check them out from time to time.
4. Current Medical Students are allowed to participate in the event.
5. Each team should have 3 fixed players.
6. Every player must produce their student ID and MyCard/Driving License for
verification purpose before the match starts.

GAME SETTINGS

1. All games will be held in VS mode with extra time and PK.
2. Game time will be 10 minutes for all games. The Community Referee reserves the
right to change the game time in the event of delays or other unforeseen
circumstances.

3. The matches consist of 2 out of 3 games. There are 2 matches of 1vs1, and 1 match
of 2vs2. Players change sides after each game.

4. For tiebreaker, there will be 1 vs 1. Each team must provide a single player from
the doubles team.

UNFAIR PLAY

The following actions will be considered unfair play;

1. An intentional disconnection.
2. Clearly allowing an opponent to win a match (e.g. intentional own goals).
3. Unsportsmanlike behaviour or, in general, disruptive, inappropriate and/or
unprofessional actions directed towards another player (even inside the game).
4. During the course of the event, the Community Referee may determine other actions to
embody unfair play.
5. Players who fail to comply with Community Referee's instruction will be given a
YELLOW CARD.
6. Players who receive 2 YELLOW CARDS will be disqualified from the tournament.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

1. Players are advised to arrive 30 minutes before the stated time for tournament. Pre-
registered players who arrive late will be disqualified.
2. Players are allowed to bring their own controllers and peripherals. The organizers shall
not be held liable for any malfunction, incompatibility and/or damage to these
equipment’s.
3. In the case of disconnection, the players shall restart the game and play the remaining
time left for the previous match with the same scoreline (e.g. If player A disconnects at
60th minute with the score of 1-0, the game will be restarted and played for 30mins).

SEPAK TAKRAW
RULES AND REGULATIONS
The matches follow rules of International Sepak Takraw Federation (ISTAF) and General
Rules of MIVG as follows :

1. A game of Sepak Takraw is played between two teams (known as Regu). Each Regu
has three players on court and two substitutes. The players on court are the striker,
server and feeder.
2. Service will change over after three consecutive points scored by the serving Regu.
3. The first Regu that scores 21 points wins the set.
4. The set can only be won by the Regu with a two point lead, and the maximum points a
set typically reaches is 25 points.
5. The umpire will announce for the set to extend to 25 points when there is a tie at 20 -
20.
6. The game is played in two sets with two minute break in between.
7. The Regu that wins two sets wins the match.

REGISTRATION

1. Every team should check in at the official table at least 15 minutes before the match starts.

2. Registration only opens to medical students(MBBS/MD). Participants are encouraged to


apply through online registration

3. Every player must produce their student ID for verification purpose before the match starts.

4. Maximum of 2 teams per university are allowed to join the competition.

COMPETITION FORMAT
1. There are 3 clubs in the League. During the tournament, each club plays twice (a
double round-robin system), for a total of 6 games.
2. Teams receive three points for a win and one point for a draw. No points are awarded
for a loss. Teams are ranked by total points.

PLAYER’S ATTIRE
1. All apparels used by players shall be in accordance with the Law of the Game. Any
equipment that is designed to increase or reduce the speed of the ball, increase a player’s
height or movement or in any other way give an unfair advantage or endangers himself or
other players shall not be permitted.
2. A player’s attire consists of a jersey, shorts, socks and sport shoes with rubber soles
without heels. The entire apparel of a player is regarded as part of his body. All jerseys shall
be properly tucked in prior to the start of the match.

PUNCTUALITY
The time allocation is strictly limited. Every team must be alert. There will be no warm-up
session. Each team will have to find their own time for warming-up. If the team does not
show up after the third calling during the transition time, the team will be automatically
disqualified.

PRESENT during REHEARSAL and COMPETITION.
3. The usage of any musical instruments (i.e. guitars, keyboard and percussions) are
NOT allowed. Participants are only allowed to use MINUS ONE.
4. For the usage of MINUS ONE, the file has to be in MP3 format and must be
submitted via email attachment to the organizing committee at least TWO DAYS
prior competition.

5. Total length of performance should not exceed the duration of one song (<5
minutes).
6. Lyrics must not contain any profanity and it must be memorized. No screen will be
provided.
7. Participants are welcomed for mic testing and short rehearsal before competition
starts. 15 minutes are allocated for each participant during rehearsal.
8. Vocalist will be judged based on the criteria listed below.
a. Vocal skills: Includes pitch, breath control, dynamics, phrasing, enunciation,
harmony and tone.

b. Stage presence: Includes eye contact, body expression, facial expression,


microphone technique and attire.
c. Audience Responses to Performance: Based on judge’s observation.
d. Judges’ Overall Impression: At discretion of judges.
e. Choice of Material: Singer chose proper song to showcase their talent.
9. If participants require any specific item such as wireless microphone, stool,
microphone’s stand and so on, please notify the organizer beforehand.
10. The decisions of the judges will be FINAL and binding under all circumstances.
