Introduction

The DTU SMS is giving an important service for its community i.e. for instructors, administrative
staffs, students and other members of the university.
The properties of the store are acquired from donation or supplier with appropriate procurement
these properties are distributed based on formal request forms. The current system gives vast
service however it uses manual management system which leads the system to be inefficient. As
part of the effort to bring efficient and modern store management system in DTU, the new system
should be well design based on software design processes. The newly design system includes
obtaining properties from suppliers, processing properties, distributing properties to university
communities, transferring properties from one university member to the other member if they clear
from the university and finally returning the properties if it’s finite properties.
Requirement Analysis
List of actors participate on the system includes
1) Store keeper: perform the following activities on the system
 login
 Register new
 Items: Items property should be kept to database for further processing i.e. borrow to
users
 Users: adding users to the system to borrow items
 update items information
 update the items information during entering to the system and borrowed by the user
 update outdated items (deactivate the items from the system which is outdated)
 view users loan
 Store keepers can view loan and available items
 Search items
 They can search items by their attributes like name, id or other items attribute
 Approve request from user
 They can approve items borrowed by users
 Logout: after completion of their activates storekeeper can logout from the system.
2) Store manager
 login
 View report which belongs to store manager
 Store manager can view which item is bowered and available items in the store
 Can view items status whether outdated, used or new
 Approve request from users
 When the user requests to borrow items the Store manager approve or disapprove the
request
 Logout
3) System administrator: manages system security related issues
 Login
 Manage system users
 Activate user if they are new to the system
 And deactivate users during clearance
 Logout
4) User
 Login
 View items: users view which items can borrow and borrowed,
 Search items: can search items they want to borrow from the available items
 Request items: fill the required data filed to borrow items
 Transfer items: fill the required data fields to transfer
 Cancel items request: if the user request the items wrongly can be cancel the request
 Logout
