You are the Business development manager of a UK firm with a manufacturing base in Marseilles. You cannot attend the meeting but will be sending your best sales
person to represent you and run the meeting. Your sales person speaks limited French so you must arrange the trip and translate all the necessary information for

In addition to the specific additional activities linked to each scene, below is a range of generic ideas for further
activities:
• Ask learners to research on the internet the main tourist attractions in specific towns and cities
• Ask learners to research on the internet the easiest way to travel to a specific destination. Ask them to detail the
various forms of transport, timings and costs
• Ask learners to investigate various cultural characteristics in Germany
• Use the native speaker audio on the DVD to practise pronunciation
• Ask learners to prepare an agenda for a 2 day meeting in a specific location. Ask them to research and propose
hotels, restaurants for dinner and 2 cultural visits or experiences
• Play the various role plays on the DVD and ask learners to practise using different circumstances
• Teach relevant grammar points in relation to the various topics on the DVD
• Teach additional vocabulary in relation to the various topics on the DVD

You are the Business development manager of a UK firm with a manufacturing base in Madrid. You cannot attend the meeting but will be sending your best sales
person to represent you and run the meeting. Your sales person speaks limited Spanish so you must arrange the trip and translate all the necessary information for
your colleague to cover any eventuality. All the information should be prepared in Spanish so that your colleague may refer to the document for assistance. This

In addition to the specific additional activities linked to each scene, below is a range of generic ideas for further
activities:
• Ask learners to research on the internet the main tourist attractions in specific towns and cities
• Ask learners to research on the internet the easiest way to travel to a specific destination. Ask them to detail the
various forms of transport, timings and costs
• Ask learners to investigate various cultural characteristics in Spain
• Use the native speaker audio on the DVD to practise pronunciation
• Ask learners to prepare an agenda for a 2 day meeting in a specific location. Ask them to research and propose
