The Challenge
Planning a mobile network with the ideal configuration that
delivers the coverage, quality and capacity desired is the first,
essential step to ensure network performance. As configuration
parameters in the RAN and Core network go ‘live’, essential
operational changes such as new node launches, re-homing
activities and other errors cause inconsistencies in the
configuration databases. These inconsistencies and design errors
decrease customers’ Quality of Service.
The Xeda solution
InfoVista’s Configuration Audit and Updates Solution is based on
its Xeda platform which acts as a multi-vendor, multi-technology
data warehouse for configuration parameters that constantly
detects and helps correct inconsistencies in mobile networks.
The Xeda platform acts as a data warehouse for the most
important configurations that affect handovers and traffic flow.
These configurations are checked within and between the
RAN and Core network, regardless of technology and vendor
type and audit reports are created for the network engineer’s
further action. Change Requests with MML scripts to correct
inconsistencies are also created automatically and sent directly
to the Operations group upon approval by the responsible
engineer. Updates to the planned network in Cell Planning
databases are also supported to ensure the integrity of the
Planning process.
