SIP Proposal of a SIP student working in a bank on loan sanctions

1. SIP Proposal: To understand the key steps and considerations in the sanctioning of commercial
loans by banks

2. Description of SIP in brief


 Receipt of proposal from the branch
o To learn the complete documentation of the loan proposal submitted by the
branch;
 Step 1
 Step 2
 And so on
 Last step: disposal of the proposal – either sanctioned or rejected or asked for further
documents or clarity or submissions

3. Objectives of SIP
 To understand thoroughly the intricacies of loan sanctioning and process

4. Methodology
 Application of theoretical concepts learnt so far
 Understanding and effective use of internal circulars of the bank
 Understanding and complete learning of RBI guidelines on different kind of loans and
sectors

5. Schedule
 Phase I – From ____________ to _____________ : [specify what you will do in Phase I
 Phase 2 – From __________ to ______________: [ e.g. evaluation of financial statements]

SIP Interim Report – Guidelines and Sample

The Interim Report should be structured as follows:


i. Title of the Project

ii. Description of the work being done under the project: Please note that the work done should be in
line with the title of the Project. If required you may change the title to suit the work done.

iii. Briefly about the company:


a. Name of the Company;
b. Name of its CEO
c. Name and position of the Company Guide
d. Name and position of the company official actually giving you training and spending time with
you
e. Nature of business of the company: Whether trading, manufacturing, consulting etc
f. Brief description about the company’s business clearly specifying its major source of revenue
and its major area of expense

iv. No of weeks or days of SIP training already done

v. Detail of the work done so far during the SIP


a. Activity No 1:

c. Activity No 3:
d. And so on
FOR EACH ACTIVITY COVER FOUR THINGS:
 Name of the Activity
 Importance of the activity to the company or why is that activity being undertaken by the
company
 The complete process in brief of doing that activity; AND
 What are your learnings from that activity

vi. Details of work to be done till end of SIP


This should be in the same manner as in “v” above.

vii. Key Learnings from the work done and how is that learning going to be of help in the long run

viii. Conclusion: Why do you think the SIP was important for you and what do you propose to take away
from this SIP experience.
