RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.
Screencasting.com provides a free software that can be downloaded onto any computer. It puts a yellow half circle on the top of
the screen and it is from there you can create the video. It is super easy to use.

INTEGRATION/IMPLEMENTATION IDEA - SCREENCASTING

How might you use this resource to promote student learning? Describe who will be doing the screencasting – you or your
students, and what purpose it will serve.
I think this is a great tool for students to use because it can help them express themselves in new ways. Looking at it from a
science teacher stand point, if a student needed to create instructions or demonstrate their ability to complete an online lab this
would be a great tool. It would also give them an opportunity to create something to help educate their peers.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Given the information above, how would the technology integration you described, using the selected resource? (On the
“Value-Added Rating Scale” above)
 Explain your rating based on the indicators on the rubric.

I would give this software a score of 3 on the scale because it is super easy to use and I feel could really enhance student learning.
The student can really demonstrate they know a concept by creating an online video or even by showing they completed a lob or
an assignment. I would have the students use this tool more than I would because it would enhance their learning and get them
involved. I think it follows the standard of knowledge constructor very well because it would be a great tool to create an online
tutorial for as assignment.
