This set of coffins belonged to Shepeten-

Khonsu, a Mistress of the House who lived in

Thebes in Dynasty 22. Her cartonnage coffin (right)

was nested inside a wood coffin, which in turn was

enclosed in a larger outer coffin (left). Meresamun’s

set of coffins would have been similar. Oriental
