P-503 (П-503) AIRBORNE RECORDER – GENERAL


This Maintenance Schedule specifies the scope and periods of performance of operations in
maintenance of the P-503B (П-503Б) /P-503BS (П-503БC), P-503BZ (П-503БЗ)/ airborne recorder.

The operating procedure specified by this Maintenance Schedule is detailed in the Task Cards
contained in the Maintenance Manual.

The preliminary preparation includes the operations to be carried out on the eve of flights but no more
than 5 days before.

The preflight preparation includes the operations to be carried out in the parking areas just before the
flight.

The turnaround preparation includes the operations to be carried out during the start time before each
flight.

The post-flight preparation includes the operations to be carried out at the end of the flying day (night)
for the article repair.

Scheduled maintenance operations include the operations to be carried out as soon as the certain
number of hours is flown and each time after flying these hours subsequently.

Calculation of the operating hours and of the calendar periods of recorder operation should begin from
the moment of its installation on the aircraft.

It is permissible to check the recorder serviceability using the external power source or the aircraft
electrical system of (27±2.7) V with a flutter not exceeding 2 V.

When carrying out scheduled maintenance operations, never use the test and measuring equipment
which has not been checked by the state inspection bodies on the specified dates.

All operations on the aircraft should be carried out with serviceable and marked tools and appliances.

Each failure should be registered in the article Certificate.

AIRBORNE RECORDER P-503 (П-503) – SAFETY PRECAUTIONS


No special safety precautions are specified for maintenance of the article.

The article operates only from the DC electrical system of (27±2.7) V. It is permissible to connect it to
the aircraft electrical system of +27 V.

Only the personnel who have studied the Maintenance Manual are allowed to operate the article.

NOTES: 1. Depending on the type of the aircraft carrying article P-503 (П-503), it is permissible as agreed with the article
Manufacturer to change the dates of scheduled maintenance operations execution.
2. Operations should be performed with no bobbin installed on the recording device.
3. Operations should be performed with the article used with disabled automatic reversal and in case of continuous
flights for longer than 4 hours.
