Can you specifically show me how these assignments have enhanced your use of
technology to create and write in multiple genres?
My research skills have increased because I have come to the realization that I am
unable to go off of a whim anymore. In order to communicate properly with people in
such an important of my life such as business, then I need to be able to explore,
analyze, and plan out what I’m going to say and how I’m going to say it.
My critical thinking skills have excelled due to my gain in research skills and overall
perspective going into experiences such as those that we’ve explored in class. I’ve
learned how to hone in my critical thinking skills through methodical planning of
assignments, tackling tasks with my group, and figuring out how to work as a team
with my classmates.
I wish that I would have put more time into my assignments because I feel as if they
could have been a lot better if I had taken the time to really plan them out. I was
happy with the choices and positions I took with my group and most decisions made
with my team. Personally, I wish I hadn’t procrastinated as much on assignments so
that my writing could’ve been better.
Group Projects
How did this project enhance your research skills?
My research skills no longer only pertained to my own, they had to be done under the
influence of my group. I not only had to research for the actual work, but I also had to
research what my group thought was acceptable work as well as what my group had
similar passions for.
How do the SLO’s (especially Critical Reading, Rhetorical Knowledge, and Knowledge
of Conventions).
The SLO’s pertained to the group assignments through the wide variety of
assignments given as well as the diversity of sub-assignments within. One had to mold
to the new assignments given each week and put themselves in a situation they
thought wasn’t going to be given to them. In shaping ourselves week by week to new
assignments, we had to differentiate how we spoke, presented ourselves, and
approached the required task at hand.

The textbook assignments seemed as if they really got down to the core of
fundamental technical communication. Whether that be with a friend, colleague, co-
worker, boss, etc. They taught you how to effectively communicate across all
spectrums of relationships.
As with the different people you had to “write” to, you had to vary your voice,
template, structure, and viewpoint towards the task at hand. You had to be able to
put yourself in the receiver’s shoes and determine what you would like to read and
how you would like to read it.
