EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This document is an analytic description of the affordances, benefits and long-lasting impact of

the integration of multimodal tools and effective design choices. Adopting a student

writer/designer lens, this proposal showcases two key aspects the Foundation can capitalize on in

an effort to obtain and effectively retain strategic partners and donors to aid the Foundation in

meeting its overall goals and objectives. The purpose of this proposal is to illuminate a

conceptual understanding of what the Foundation does well but can improve upon, and proposes

an additional genre in the form of bookmarks, which can potentially elevate the Foundation’s

success.

INTRODUCTION

Gk Folks Foundation is transformational organization, which has the interest of some of the

country’s most vulnerable population. Refugee students, amongst other African students who

either are displaced from their homeland, or have intentionally ventured here to the United States
in pursuit of a great education are faced with many challenges as they try to fit into the American

Culture. As per the information provided on your organization’s website, the events featured and

your future aspirations, Gk Folks Foundation plays a critical role in bridging a major gap that

oftentimes get overlooked.

As a digital writing student at Salt Lake Community College, and my vested interest in your

foundation’s success, I have conducted a case study wherein I analyzed the strengths,

weaknesses and opportunities of your Foundation’s communicative strategies. For this reason, I

am proposing a redesign of the GK Foundation’s main/home page, Donation page, as well an

integration of a new genre - bookmarks to aid the organization in accomplishing its goals.

CONCLUSION

Thank you for your time and support. Your willingness to support this partnership is greatly

appreciated. Please be informed that the attached document is merely a proposal, which has been

intentionally designed through the lens of digital writing student in learning. I shared a range of

suggestions and ideas with the hope of developing the foundation’s communicative strategies,

and empowering the organization’s ability to meet its goal.
