3D Printing Police Car

OBJECTIVE:

• To build a circuit that operates a police siren with flashing LEDs.

• To assemble the above circuit with the design of a suitable 3D printed model of a police
vehicle.

TASK INTRODUCTION:

The United Arab Emirates has one of the most well – equipped police forces in the world.

A key part of developing the police force is the ever-growing fleet of vehicles. Vehicles
patrolling the ground range from jeeps to sportscars such as Lamborghinis. Helicopters and
speedboats patrol the air and sea. In October 2017, Dubai Police launched a concept
hoverbike. This shows that there are opportunities for a variety of unique vehicles, within
the police force of the UAE.

All police vehicles are equipped with flashing lights and sirens to alert people of urgent
situations. Using visual and audio alerts of the siren, both people and cars are required to
urgently clear the path, to allow the police vehicle through.

The flow of the project will be as follows –

• Build an analogue 555 timer circuit for a police siren with flashing LEDs.
• Analyze existing police vehicle designs.
• Sketch and annotate drawings of police vehicles in projected views.
• Design a 3D model of the police vehicle prototype.
• Assemble the siren breadboard circuit to fit into the 3D printed police vehicle model.
