Make Negative Statements Using the Present Simple Tense

Put “do not / don’t” or “does not/doesn’t”

(3rd person singular) before the infinitive verb form.

The infinitive verb form = the simple or base form of the verb.

Make Questions Using the Simple Present Tense

Put “do” or “does” (3rd person singular) in front of a subject.

Always put the verb in infinitive form.

Infinitive – An infinitive is a verb form ordinarily introduced by “to” and/or a verb used as a noun, an
adjective, or an adverb.

Example: to eat, to sleep, to run, to walk, etc.
