PROBLEM SYSTEM:-

2|P a g e
INTRODUCTION:-

The theme of my project is Hotel Management System. The main aim of this project is gives
customer view of hotel. This system is made in such a way that a minimum educated and simple
computer knowledge person can use this system without any option of error. There are basically
two types of user who can use this system one is online users who are the customers who can see
the hotel updates and can book rooms and second one is administrator who is responsible for
updating the hotel details on system.

EXISTING SYSTEM:-

The existed system is in that hotel is manual working. Using this many problems can occur, for
this system they used some bill books. That time any customer came for enquiry or reservation
they need to check every reservation in the book, that is surly time wasting process. Also the
man who is searching also important, sometimes he may do some problems in the process. The
same problems in restaurant also possible, in the billing time wasting are possible to occur. Some
drawbacks of this existed system are

SDLC (SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT LIFE CYCLE):-

3|P a g e
SDLC, Software Development Life Cycle is a process used by software industry to design,
develop and test high quality software. The SDLC aims to produce a high quality software that
meets or exceeds customer expectations, reaches completion within times and cost estimate.

Requirement gathering and analysis:-

This phase will capture all the requirements. This phase do brainstorming and walkthrough to
understand the requirements and requirements feasibility test to ensure that the requirements are
testable or not.

System design:-

4|P a g e
The requirement specifications from first phase are studied in this phase and system design is
prepared.

Implementation:-

With inputs from system design, the system is first developed in small programs called units,
which are integrated in the next phase. Each unit is developed and tested for its functionality
which is referred to as Unit Testing.

Testing :-

All the units developed in the implementation phase are integrated into a system after testing of
each unit. Post integration the entire system is tested for any faults and failures.

Deployment of system:-

Once the functional and non functional testing is done, the product is deployed in the customer
environment or released into the market.

Maintenance:-

There are some issues which come up in the client environment. To fix those issues patches are
released. Also to enhance the product some better versions are released. Maintenance is done to
deliver these changes in the customer environment

Requirement analysis:-

Some questions are prepared through questionnaires technique for the current system

Data flow diagram:

The purpose is clarifying system requirement .it show the flow of data in a system , it is a
graphical tool. The data flow diagram (DFD) can also be partitioned in to levels the shows
increasing information. Four simple notations are used, these notations are shown below.

Data flow: this is used to describe the flow of data from one entity in the system to another .

The flow is represented by an arrow.

Process or function: this is represented by a circle and it shows the part of a system the
transform input to output.

Input/output: squares represent the input output which defines a source or destination of
system data.

Database: this is where data are stored in the system, it is represented by an opened rectangle
